Do you carry stronger metal 'Corner Bead' ?

I looking for the same item but sturdier so that I can pound into the ground to support have berry lines
Asked by: Royce
don't need stronger corner bead, the strength comes from the mud and tape and drywall after installed. If a stronger corner is wanted, you will have to spend a little more $$. Buy a 1/16" sheet of galvanized or stainless steel and have it flat table bent and chopped off into the profile you want. Or you can get you some angle iron or framing brackets. Those are 11 to 16 gauge steel, that stuff wont bend but metal is expensive when you get the harder, thicker stuff.. This is for drywall and getting a thicker, stronger piece will require more removal of drywall material as to make it blend into the wall. Otherwise a thick Skim Coat will have to be applied to the whole drywall section to make it look decent.. watch some youtube videos on installing corner bead. Should give you an idea on what you are looking for..

I purchased some 1-1/4 in X 8ft. metal corner bead. doing a wall for the first time. Can you tell me how to install this item?

Asked by: jfielldo
Return this corner bead and find some from a real sheetrock supplier that is 'dull' (not shiny), so that compound will adhere to it.

Get dull (not shiny), metal corner bead from a real sheetrock supplier. I have to replace many corners. This corner bead is also much flimsier than the type carried by the sheetrock supplier. DO NOT USE IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO GO BACK AND REPAIR YOUR CORNERS.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Need the Corner Bead When you need the sharp 90 on drywall, gotta get the corner bead.. Make sure to take off some drywall off the mating 2 pieces if butting this up so to use drywall tape and mud to get a clean grade.. This stuff is a must if kids are around, no more dings and broken corners from bumping things into the walls! may chip the mud off but better than replacing drywall.. BEWARE--- SHARP!!!! this stuff will get you quick! wear gloves and cut with a pair of snips but be gentle. when uninstalled it will bend easily but is quickly repaired with a hammer and a flat surface..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from mistake numero uno Poeple often just use the drywall screws there using for drywall, to also put on this stuff. If youve done this then you know how this stuff buckles up on you and your fighting one side vs. the other... Just use drywall nails instead for corner bead and problem solved! Use the nails, and this stuff is awesome!
