Can these galvanized sheets be painted? If so, how best to prep the surface so it doesn't peel? We're in Texas - extreme heat, infrequent but heavy rains, and occasional ice / hail storms. Thanks!

Answer:
Hi, thanks for your question. The Galvanized Skirting can be painted and we recommend using a DTM paint (Direct To Metal). To prepare the surface wipe down with vinegar to remove any residue that may remain from fabricating.

Answer:
Galvanized Steel mobile home skirting is not recommended for direct burial, however if the you coat the section with a sufficient moisture proofing paint/sealant and the property is located more than approx. 25 miles from a coastal area the metal will most likely survive the 5 years needed.

Answer:
For venting mobile home skirting you can use the 8" X 16" under eave vents and attach over an approx. 7" X 15" cut out opening located at or near the top of the crawl space beneath the home. Typically these vents spaced approx 8' to 12' on center around the perimeter will provide sufficient crawl space ventilation. In wet areas it would also be recommended to add a 6 mill plastic moisture over the ground Read More
