Will there be a reaction or should I go with redwood rails? Local Home Depot only carries 2x3 cedar rails currently which would be too light.

Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. These roof panels are only carried in select Home Depot stores and not online. Answer:
They are galvanized to prevent rust but any places a screw or nail is penetrated thru the panel may cause rust to form at that location since you are breaking thru the galvanizing barrier.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Uses beyond roofing I use this material in an alternative way; artistic. The material is rigid enough to allow me the capability to plasma cut images and designs in the material for pliable pieces of art. The material holds up on my pieces both indoors and out. After a light denatured alcohol cleaning, the metal accepted a primer and paint. Cuts easily with tin snips, reciprocating saw or a plasma cutter if so equipped. October 22, 2012
