At first when shopping for a mailbox, I wanted a standard size one since it looked more traditional and cute, like the old days of glass coke bottles. However, with the new age of the internet, we occasionally get bigger pieces of mail and packages so I settled on this size instead and it can amazingly fit a Digiorno pizza inside easily without bending or folding! While big, it doesn't look like its oversized sitting in front of your house. Gives your overall house an instant improvement. I modified the flag little by adding another nylon washer so it wouldn't feel so wobbly. Install takes about 2 hours and you will need 2 bags of cement, not one if you want it to stand sturdy and you can fill the post up with cement as well (I bought the steel square post).
The results speak for themselves...

I purchased the same model Mail Box a year and half ago. A delivery truck snapped the handle off the door. The new Mail Box was ordered and I thought it would be the same. NOPE. The original had a cast aluminum door, the new one is plastic. The original has a metal handle, the new one is plastic. The only improvement over the old one was the OUT BOUND MAIL FLAG in now RED while the other was the same textured Bronze.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Joani We were looking for a mailbox and post that would withstand the beatings that our old mailbox succumbed to, from partying young people looking to amuse themselves, and snowplows bulldozing snow and ice at it at 30 mph. This is the one! It not only is beautiful but very durable. We also purchased the post that matches it, which is also very attractive and strong. My son bought the mailbox and post in black, for his new home, and we admired its strength, stability, and beauty so much that we then decided to buy it ourselves in the brown color. Great purchase! Very satisfied!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MMarl Solid, roomy, good looking
Solid, good looking. No one would really confuse it with a brass/bronze material but it still has a good look. The door sticks a bit -- you really have to pull it. Was kind of awkward to drill the inside of the box to the post. Works well -- it's a mail receptacle.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by USARJ Looks Great!
This is the second mailbox purchased from this manufacturer, Gibraltar and they come close to high marks but fall short. Although the first mailbox was large and quite durable, a poor design of the door hinges that were plastic did not hold and up and the box had to be trashed. Home Depot no longer stocks this design....The large Premium Mailbox is a better overall product with a heavyduty door design that will hold up nicely, however the body is of lighter weight than the previous box I had. In addition, the flag is very light weight and not in keeping with the overall design and "Premium" tag. Frankly, I used the flag from the previous box and retro-fitted it.....all in all, this is a nice box that looks quite nice for less than $50. A bit more effort on behalf of the manufacturer and this could be a super product.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Jeff nice attractive mailbox
This mailbox is well constructed and looks nice. The installation holes at the bottom of each side are covered by a metal trim piece. Plastic covers for the trim mounting screws are included for a clean appearance. The door and flag are held in place by plastic retaining clips that snap into place. These clips haven't been a problem yet but I might add a spot of glue to ensure they don't fall off. Two extra clips were included in the hardware.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by disapointment faulty door
Plastic door broke in half diagonal to the top of hinge tapper. The door is thin at this point and in our case could not withstand the punishment of normal mail delivery. Asteticly pleasing but not built to last.
