just got it the other day, for a emergency but if I could I return it, I tough that probably was a one piece plastic box, but the top is glue in, the same day I got it I saw that the top was loose come to find out that is glue to therest of the square or whatever box. I just put some caulking around and installed it, (for emergency need it right away) probably go wit the fortknox, or mailboss, to me is like a toy mail box. will return it to home depot with out charging for the caulking, on time when I get something better.
the door sticks when I'm closing it back to lock it. I have to wiggle with it a bit.
it could not sustain someone willing to pry open the door.
It is made of a LOT of plastic. In fact pretty almost all of it is plastic except for the access door and mail slot. The top, back, bottom, and sides are all plastic
They are made of thin metal and the lock is held by a small piece of metal on the inside. A quick jerk by hand or a simple screwdriver pops the doors open. There is no deadbolt and no heavy metal to make them really secure. It is a wast of money. If you expect your mail to be safe, it isn't even safe from a child.
it's only glued on and attached with teeny screws.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DCDiamond Looks Great and the Size is Perfect
I was in need of a larger mailbox to accommodate magazines and small packages. The mailbox is just the right size and even has a security slot for outgoing mail. My only gripe is that the door sticks when I'm closing it back to lock it. I have to wiggle with it a bit, but that not a huge deal. Still satisfied with my purchase!

This mailbox was easy to mount and large enough to hold a weeks worth of mail securely.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DCF10244 Seems to be just as described
While I haven't installed it yet, it's exactly as described. Due to the weather which has been snowy and cold, I'm waiting for a reasonable weather day to put it up.
The design is suitable for installing on post and making a template to install is easily accomplished by punching out the appropriate inserts and marking a paper or cardboard with the hole locations. If you're used to installing this type of configuration, you don't even need a template. Just set the first screw hole - temporarily insert first screw and then level the mailbox and mark the other screw holes which is actually more accurate than trying to use a template.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by busyguy If you need an outside Mailbox with size and Quality, this is the one!
Very easy to mount to the surface chosen. 4 screws finishes the mount. I used stick on letters for the mailbox itself to list address etc. The delivery was very fast and the price was good as well. This box allows for sending mail as well as receiving mail. Same slot but there is a special inside feature that holds the out going mail from the main section that will hold incoming mail. The box itself is a locking one so this feature is a must to accomplish both tasks. We are happy, it i attractive looking as well and speaks of quality.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by DIYfan Decent mail box, awful 1980s gold color door and lock.
Just installed, so only a few hours to assess.
OK overall. Plastic all the way around. Only the mail door drop, mail retrieval door, and red flag, are made of metal. Despite this, overall construction does feel good. Only time will tell though.
One major cosmetic improvement would be to get rid of the 1980's gold mail door drop and gold lock. The Black mail box with silver doors/lock is no longer available from homedespot. Ratings would be higher if it was not for the gold.
A possible design improvement would be to allow the red flag to be mounted Left or Right side. Current design is for a Right side mount (when facing the mail box). This mail box is mounted in a corner on the right side, so the flag can not be used. I can live w/o the flag.
A shipping sticker is simply attached to the original retail box. This cardboard is about the same quality and thickness as your cereal boxes. Fortunately the mailbox arrived undamaged.

Nice looking on our post. Compartment for outgoing mail is creative and as secret as it probably could be, given that you cannot lock the postal carrier out of that section. A couple of times the carrier did not get the incoming mail all of the way through the slot, more the fault of the carrier than the box. Nice and secure; would be tough to fish mail out of it.
We did a lot of research on line. This one is the best value out there. Hard to find in the stores.
Installation would have been much easier had the manufacturer provided a template for the screws, but it wasn't awful.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by meli123 Large mailbox, flimsy lock
This mailbox is very large. We tested it with all sorts of mail before mounting it to the wall. It fits books and magazines with no problem. The slot in the front pushes back so that mail can drop in. If the mail is too large, it is visible and can be pulled through the slot. When you open the slot, it also reveals a ledge for outgoing mail.
We didn't mount and use the mailbox because the lock was so flimsy. It was difficult to get the mailbox to close and once it was closed, a quick pull loosened the lock. We're returning this and looking for something more secure.
