First, it's supposed to be a locking mailbox, presumably because you'd like to prevent mail theft. However, I'm an adult male of average size, and I can put my arm in the slot nearly up to my elbow and remove all the mail without opening the locking door.
Second, the door never really closed right. The box was crooked and the door jammed a lot.
Third, possibly as a result of #2, we've had ours for about 6 months and the door fell off.
Not recommended. You may as well buy a non-locking mailbox of higher quality than this, or spend a bit more money and get a locking mailbox that actually prevents theft.

Perfect answer for our Rural box at the Lake. Now feel confident in having items mailed to our vacation home, when we are not there. This is a large box, heavy duty, but install was very reasonable. Several exterior and interior screw holes to secure to a wooden platform. Easily allows for mail, magazines and small packages. Super quick delivery, as usual, from Home Depot.

The Mailbox appears to be very good and well built. The only noticeable problem is the
size of the opening in the Locked Door.
Seems like someone if their hand was small
enough could reach in and pick up the Mail.
Otherwise have no problems

This is a great all metal mailbox. The locking slot is big enough for small parcels, but limits a person's arms from going through to "fish" for mail.
Quality is great. However the steel is not galvanized for rust protection. The exterior is powder coated, and looks great. The interior is bare metal. I easily fixed that by spraying Rustoelum's Painter's Touch paint inside to provide a barrier against rust.
The lock was a bit finicky and reluctant to open, but after jiggering it for a few minutes, it opens easily now.
Overall a great mailbox, best value for the money. Highly recommended!!!

Bought this box because it looked like it could hold a small package. Got it home and opened it up and found there is a small shelf in the middle of the opening behind the security panel which I was going to remove because I didn't need it. So bottom line for me, it won't work. As for quality, rivets were loose on the shelf and the doors, not sure how water tight they would be. The lock seemed okay. As one reviewer has already stated a young person could easily reach in thru the slot and grab whatever was there with the inside door locked. From where I sit, it won't accept small packages and the security is questionable and you'd probably have to do some maintenance on it in the not to distant future!! Back to the drawing board!!!

The slot on this mailbox is so large that I can stick my whole arm in and pull things out. There is absolutely no point in buying this.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by NorthernBlue Looks ok, seems a bit flimsy
This mailbox looks good, and provides a bit more security than not having a locking box. However, it seems a bit flimsy. If someone wanted to take the time, they could probably cut the limited barrier with tin snips, tear it apart, or fish out the mail through the gaps around the barrier. It seems it would provide at best a minor deterrent, sufficient for those who simply drive by and try to grab the mail out of every box. It would not stop a determined thief who wanted to take the time to mess with it. Still, I think the mail thieves in our area are of the former type, and I feel better having this box after having my mail snatched a couple of times.
