Answer:
Thank you for your interest in our products. The holes in the back corners are primarily there so that the water will exit the mailbox during the cleaning stage right before the mailbox is painted. It also helps prevent moisture condensation as well.

Answer:
Thank you for your interest in our product. The tuffbody can fit on any of our sturdier posts. I would use the Ardmore, Brighton, or a cedar style post. The mailbox is 22 pounds and I would avoid any plastic style posts.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 63 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy gage sheetmetal, sturdy design and clean apperance Clean design as no external reinforcing ribs are required for strength. Much more durable than the majority of post mounted mail boxes. Easy to install. The quality would have rated excellent, however the lack of paint coverage on the top inside of the rear panel was disappointing. Ended up priming and painting this area as a white unit was difficult to find in stock. August 21, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Mailbox I could find anywhere My daughter is getting married soon. We purchased this specific mailbox because we want to use it as a place for guests to put cards. We plan to put it on a table surrounded by red roses and white babys breath. The wedding colors are red, black and white. We'll put their name and street address on the side in red and when the wedding is over, we plan for the kids to use it to replace the broken mailbox they are currently using. It's been hit numerous times by cars and snow plows. I have no doubt that this mailbox will survive where they live. Wedding Win! Home Mailbox Win!! February 17, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Mailbox High quality item. The only poor design is your mail gets wet when it rains. June 30, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great mailbox This mailbox is really sturdy and installed on my existing post with no trouble. I love the overhang above the door - will keep most of the rain and snow out! July 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best Box On The Planet Excellent box. Top quality fasteners. Great feel when operating door. Home Depot sells this box from 25% to 50% less than other venders. Couldn't be more satisfied. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solid Mailbox, nice construction, a bit pricey Compared to the other mailboxes available, this is the only one that has a nice open/close latching mechanism (magnetic with a nice heavy door and good hinge). It's a bit pricey for what it is (just a mailbox), but the others out there look and feel cheap in person (maybe not online). I don't really need the baseball bat-proof feature in my neighborhood so I can't comment on that. But for those who need an indestructible box, this is it. It's heavy and I don't thing anything can dent it. Important note: You have to purchase the $10 metal mounting bracket in order to fit this box. The cheaper $5 plastic mounting bracket does not fit (holes don't line up right no matter how you turn it). June 4, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A great mailbox. Very sturdy, well made, expect it will probably last a LONG time!!! May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Just ran into this mailbox with my truck. Mailbox: 1 Truck: 0 My best friend has this mailbox at the end of his driveway. I pulled out of his driveway 2 nights ago and turned too sharply trying to avoid another vehicle who was coming into my lane across the center line. I dragged this mailbox all the way down the side of my truck. I just got back from the dealership with an estimate for repairs. This box did $3000 worth of damage to my truck. All it did was fold the lower right tab over onto the door of the box so he couldn't open the door. My buddy straightened it out with pliers in 30 seconds and it's good as new.... I'd say this product is exactly as advertised. September 22, 2014
