Thieves came through our neighborhood and easily pried open a half dozen of these along our street, including ours.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by MichaelB It's ok, but need work to be really secure
it seem like it made sturdy, so there is no problem there. However here are my complains:
1. To install you would need either a short screwdriver or if you use an electrical one I would recommend to purchase angle driver. Luckily I had one, so install was really easy for me. '
2. the slot is really wide, so anyone who was small hand can take mail out. (Any woman on our street pretty much could do it.) I had to install a separate plate to make slot smaller

The mailbox is great. It does not come with any parts to assist with installation, so installation was very difficult. we had to get a handyman to come look at it and then go get the parts and install it. The finished product is exactly what we were looking for. It fits our post perfectly where the older, smaller one used to be.

If you are happy with minimum security, this mailbox is much more sturdy than the lower cost Gibraltar mailbox. Its baked on finish should protect from rust for a long time. The magnetic latching of the door is very smooth compared to the usual mailbox spring latch.
The security is marginal, as it will be for all similar shaped post mailboxes. The mail entry is to USPS standards so a small hand or any grabbing device can remove the mail. Brutal mechanical attack is also possible.
If you want real security, find something else. If you want deterrence, this is probably OK. I just installed six in a row for neighbors. Half have chosen not to use the locking feature on a street where mailbox theft is common. Most here use a box in the post office for any mail of value.

This mailbox is a lot bigger than a standard one. Make sure your post can handle it with out it looking like an umbrella.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Papasmurf357 Solid Construction, easy to assemble, Medium Security
Large mailbox. Frame and parts are solid steel, very durable. Nice, scratch resistant finish, but color is more of an egg white than "pure" white. Easy to install with 8 separate holes offset to accommodate different sized mounts.
Security is only moderate, as the lock is fairly simple. Also, someone with a small hand / wrist could probably reach over the security barrier and access the contents.
Does not include mounting hardware, which was not obviously specified on the box. You will need 4 to 8 hex bolts with nuts and washers (or whatever hardware you prefer).

This was the only box I could find narrow enough to fit on the post that I share with my neighbor's mailbox. I bought it at a Home Depot store. My keys are metal. I suppose they could break, but it would have to be pretty difficult. As far as the slot goes, someone with a small hand could put it in, but it would take some doing and patience to get the mail out. Anything much narrower and magazines and such that need to fold to be put in would not fit. I'm sure someone with a crowbar could break the lock, but hopefully this will be a good deterrent. Time will tell.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Lynn Mid Size Nice Mailbox
Nice looking and hides the fact that it is a locking mail box. Size is good if you want to go out of town for a few days and want to hold more than the small size box. The 2 keys that come with it are a bit flimsy and I needed to caulk the back as the seam wasn't flush and you could see light through it. But I saw it before I bought it and knew what I was getting, and it is good for my situation. Hopefully it will last awhile.
