Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by SailorJoe Difficult, expensive, unattractive.
First attempt to install this was difficult. Product curls badly - sticks to itself - thought I was just going to have to trash the piece. Finally got it up and and to work it a long time to remove bubbles fro the Gila spray. So I step back to admire my work and this product does not nearly darken the window as the picture shows. I went outside and it was not pretty - it looks like I didn't even try to smooth it - wavy and every little speck shows up in the finish. If you want to darken a room, I had used the privacy film before and it was much easier to use. I'll write this stuff as a loss in the hopes that it saves somebody else the hassle.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Grumpster Not worth the trouble
Purchase for the large roll for 45$ in the low reflective instead of the platinum. The platinum which is the same type product comes in multiple sizes, but the low reflective comes only in the 45$ roll. So if you botch a window or two, you got to buy a big roll. That out of the way. The product is difficult to work with and the edges keep pulling up. The glass had better be perfectly clean or it shows it. A lot of frustration and work to give a very bad showing.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Abhi Not as easy as 1-2-3
This product claims to be as easy as 1-2-3. Not even close. The adhesive on it is not good at all. The edges do not stick, takes a very long time to install and the end product ends up with bubbles that cannot be removed.
I also purchased the Gila Window application kit. That was a waste of money too. The cutting tool that came with it makes cutting the film a lot harder than using a regular blade.
Overall NOT a DIY project if you want a good finish, hire someone to come do it for you. This product is not worth the money. DO NOT BUY!

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by homeowner23 Hard to Install
Product is not as good as films I had obtained from SolarStat some years back. Hard to install due to backing and material wants to curl up and glue to itself. Window and film must be perfectly clean and free of any lint or dust to look good without little dots or lines. View through window with tint is wavy.

I purchased the only size that my local Home Depot had in stock. It was 39.97. It was enough to cover ONE of the patio doors. We followed the instructions and purchase the application kit. The only way we can keep it from coming off is taping the top. We tried multiple times and the same problem every time. We had no problems with small air bubbles but we still have a larger one by the door handle.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by sekhets4talons Window film - waiting for my next energy bill
The product worked as professed at online website. It was a little hard to apply by myself, I do recommend two people to apply the film, greater control and visual appeal. But I did it by myself. My windows face east and west, so I am waiting for my future energy bills and may write another review after.

Expensive product. Followed installation instructions exactly using the $4 application solution. Tiny bubbles still visible. Started to peel down from gravity after a couple of hours.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Phototreki Works well, EXCELLENT at night, not the reflectivity of other styles.
Read the description of the films carefully, they are concise but important. This film does what it says. Compared side by side, applied to windows, this performs so much better than the titanium or mirrored. We tried all three and this one has the best appearance during the day, and especially at night due to its ability to perform as indicated without creating the interior nighttime reflectivity. This makes all the difference in our opinion. As for heat reduction, it is very adequate and I would give up some of this reduction just for the aesthetics!
This film has a nice "color" to it, not a silvery-sterile looking change that the other two I tried created.
As for installation, nothing is ever easy, but can be managed. I am the type of person that tackles projects after considerable research, and this was no exception. The kit is worth the ~$4, just for the cutting instrument and simple squeegee. Whether or not you create your own solution is up to you. But start with theirs as you will want to reduce any variables that might induce failure. Now will look to see if they sell it in 100 foot rolls. Good luck!
