I own a mail order company, and we store goods near a long line of sunny windows. The sun rests on the shelves holding a lot of boxed goods, and bleaches out the boxes, making them less desirable. I thought I might us this film to cover the windows top prevent this. It looks like this blocks UV, but does it also block the actual sun's rays? If not, can you suggest another product?.

Answer:
Yes, we also had to figure out something because the sun rays were so bright that we couldn't change our channels on our cable TV box when the door was open, we have a small living room so changing it around would have been hard to do and this blocks the sunrays and we are now able to leave door open for the doggy door or when it's just a nice day out.

Answer:
Umm, Not sure I understand what you mean.
This film is put on the inside of the window, it stops glair and darkens,
It Is not thick, but thick enough to rip or tear.
It is applied with soapy liquid, the film can be easily pealed off at any point.

What can I use to block the glare through double paned windows in a high-rise building? I can't get to the outside to apply the glare film. What are some alternatives?

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Window Film Thicker material can be a challenge to cut/trim. If it gets too warm it wants to pull. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by What a difference I would purchase the Gila Complete Window Film Application Kit, which I did and it comes out really good. We put in a doggie door on the screen door, the only problem was the sun in the late afternoon would heat the living room up, so I went to Home Depot knowing I would find something and I did so now I don't have to get up and down for a poochie who loves to run in and out and my living room stays at the temperature that I want it at. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Product / Good results Used this to dampen the glare on a light box. As a note, be sure to separate the film from the backing in an area free from dust or kittens The static will really attract the particles but this is no fault of the product. Also purchasing a larger squeegee will save some time if applying a lot of this film. March 1, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by perfect for privacy and glare i bought this product for the front doors of the school building i work at. not only does it offer privacy from the outside in, it keeps the glare down and the sun doesn't heat up the lobby. it stays cooler in the warmer months!! The tint film is super easy to use. i did buy the kit that includes a small squeegie and a razor knife and the spray. i do NOT recommend that kit. You are better off using your own NEW razor blade and a squeegie for windows. Also a tip.....if your film is bigger than the window you are applying it to....i suggest cutting it larger than the size needed by maybe 3 inches all around. it will make handling the film easier as it is a bit weighty. once applied to the window....squeegie it in place and then trim with razor. do NOT cut it to size and apply. it leaves no room for error. i highly recommend this product! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Room Darkener window film Very easy to apply, comes with everything you need.. except the spray We have a very strong street light and this film did the trick of blocking it.. Perfect December 15, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Smoke color is very cloudy I purchased the Smoke shade. It was fairly easy to apply and cut with a sharp blade but is extremely cloudy when you look through it. There is no clear outline on anything looking out the window. Trees and phone lines are blurry, people walking past are blurry. I would not recommend this product if you want to see clearly out the window. December 14, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Product! I purchased this for my front door which has a large oval glass that covers most of the door. Afternoon sun was glaring and hard to take. The foyer was too hot and the door image projected on the opposite wall was like a spotlight. After applying the film, there was an immediate drop in temperature in the front of the house by 5 to 7 degrees. That is big for Florida and utility bills in the hot months. We plan to do all the windows and doors in the house. I think the view through the film is ok. The only problem is finding the product in the store. Home Depot seems to only stock one roll at a time. It's taken a month to find two rolls. So, order online. March 22, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Decent It's good for what it is. We were looking for films to reduce the heat on our front door, but we didn't want the reflectivity of the titanium model (even though the titanium would have probably worked better for our application). It was a fairly easy install once you get your technique down. I'd highly recommend buying the application spray, using a larger rubber squeegee than theirs, and make sure to leave the 1/16" reveal around the edge. A good straight edge and a sharp exacto knife are a must as well. I did our doors and windows solo, but having someone else around to peel away the backing would have been nice. Although our front door is still warm, I do notice a difference after putting the film on. Also, it adds a level of privacy. Decent product. July 21, 2015
