This is an excellent product. Made a huge difference in room temperature and was real easy to apply!
Make sure you blade your window first to get all the unseen bits off.
Very high quality product!!

I finally got around to putting film on the windows above our front doors. The sun would just shine through all day. The heat was pretty intense, although the dog loved laying in it.
Anyway, I did my kid's rooms first and worked out an install 'kinks' there before working off a 20' ladder. It's really a rather simple process. The tip I can give is to trip the film within an inch or two of the final measurement. It'll be easier to apply that way.
To separate the film form the backing you'll need some tape (like scotch tape). Something that comes off easy. Be gentle with the film and try not to crease it or make markings on it.
They sell a kit to install but I did mine with it. If you have a sharp utility knife, a straight edge, and a squeegee, you don't need the kit. There is also a solution they sell. I did my kid's room with just a mixture of water and a small amount of dish detergent. For the windows above the doors, I broke down and bought the Gila solution. Both work fine, but the Gila solution was a little easier to work with.
I would pull the backing off until I was about a foot or so need the end. I'd then put it in place and pull off the remaining backing while holding it against the window. I found this is the easiest way to keep the film form curling back on to itself.
Finally, change your blades often. The film dulls a razor blade quickly. The worst thing that can happen during an install is the blade catches and tears the film (ARGH!).
After install I have to say, it's amazing how well this works. The sun still shines through but there is almost no 'warmth' to it. It also blocks the UV so the wood floors shouldn't fade as quick. The tint is very light. Honestly, unless you have an unfinished window nearby, you probably won't be able to tell. Outside you can't really tell either.
Very nice DIY product!

I purchased this film after reading the reviews I have 6 windows that faces South all day and heats up the one room a lot. I have done this job myself and the first piece was difficult ( it is better if you have 2 or 3 people 1 person holding the film another removing the clear layer and the other spraying while the clear layer is being removed) My windows were not that big 28 X 33 once it is on 80% is done spray the outside of the film and squeegee the solution you sprayed on the film when you removed the clear layer.
IT DOES NOT LOOK LIKE A MIRROR OUTSIDE THE HOUSE, it has a slight tint and it does keep the room cooler. I love it once it is done
I was able to do all 6 windows with this roll and have a small piece left to do a small octagon window in the front of the house also

We put film on all our 30 windows when we moved into this house to try and control the heat build up and reduce the energy to cool it down. After 13 years, we had to replace the film in two windows from sun damage. The product works as promised and it lasts a long time. We are able to apply it ourselves, which keeps the cost down considerably. We like the degree of tint in this product as it does the job, yet allows us to still have a sunny house and most people do not notice it.

After reading the mixed reviews before purchasing this tint I decided to go ahead and try it. I have tinted at least 10 different automotive windows and several home windows and this tint is very user friendly and easy to work with. I managed to do both my slider door windows by myself. There is a 8 degree difference from the untinted windows, so it does in fact reduce the heat energy transmitted. Like other people have said it does have a mirror like finish when there are lights on inside and trying to look out at night. It also does have a slight blueish look to the light that is transmitted through it. As long as this product does not fade or wash out I will be happy with it.
