Installed in my garage as I was putting up insulation and didn't want it to be seen from the outside (HOA rules). I used the baby shampoo and water solution instead of buying the application kit. Just make sure you have a sharp blade to trim the excess. The film was a little tricky to keep spraying while removing it from the backing but is easily correctable if it starts sticking together.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wes Exactly what we needed for privacy
Installation was quick and easy, and it has done exactly what my wife and I had hope for. It provides a view outside while allowing privacy to us with the door open. Because of the color of our door while looking at it from the street, it is difficult to see or know if the door is open or closed. It does however, make the outside view a bit darker, although that seems to be a plus because we can feel a noticeable difference as it filters the sunshine UV rays.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by anaa Product is good for room darkening
I like that it darkens the room especially in the day time since the area I live in gets to be over 90 degrees. now the house is cool during that time have not seen how it works in the winter. The only thing I think that it need were measuring guides on the back which would have made it easier to measure when cutting the film because there will be a lot of extra if not measured correctly. Overall I like it and plan on doing the glass doors next.

I bought this because the sun shines very bright in our new home. Particularly our bedrooms. We don't have screens on our windows. This item was very simple to apply. I did it by myself! I watched a short video on youtube. I did buy the kit since it came with a squeege and blade. I wasnt sure if I had those items or not. This stuff is God send!!! Im very happt eith this purchase!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by DMLR Works very well - easy
I used this on the side lights of our front door. In the evening, the sun blazes through and shines directly in your eyes if you are sitting in the family room. In the summer, the sun really heats up the room. These are single pain glass panels. Measuring and cutting perfectly is very difficult and very important. Since this is the static cling type of material, it is very thick and even with a sharp utility knife, you can not easily cut off overage once this is on the window. It stretches when you try to cut it on the window and hence the final cut is not a clean straight line. It is best to cut with the scissors prior to putting it up. However, since this is super dark, if you are not able to get the exact measurement/cut, it is terribly obvious where the gaps are from inside looking out. From the outside, these look totally black and are amazing for privacy. Removing and reapplying the pieces is very simple. Since these were only side lights, I was able to do this project alone. This reduces the amount of incoming light tremendously and it reduced the heat noticeably as well.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DocTom Outstanding and easy to apply
I purchased the Glare Control in Smoke tint #10389340 at the North Spokane Home Depot to cut out the 4 a.m. early sunrise here in Spokane. I have utilized the Gila Privacy products in the past with difficulty in the application process. This new product has really changed all the application challenges for sure. EASY TO APPLY and works VERY well in cutting out the sun glare without interfering with our garden views.
