you cant put it on the inside of a duel pain glass window. You need to put it on the outside of the window. The glass will break if you install on the inside of window.

Exactly. I will be plain and simple. NO one can see in and you can see out.
As long as the light OUTSIDE is greater than inside, complete privacy.

I have a bird feeder FEET away from the window, a picture window, and i can move around and sit all day and my cats as well, and the birds don't see us. It is wonderful for that. About three times the birds have flown into the window, small bump, no one hurt, and then got smart about the greens they see. The film reflects wht is outside. In my case, the neighbors bushes.
Also. the house is so much cooler. it is like, with the black, looking through sunglasses. Light comes in, but no heat. Great. Read Less

Answer:
Yes and no...as long as you don't have any lights on inside your home/garage etc. then yes no one can see it and you can see out just fine. If you turn on lights, especially at night (not so much during the day time) then you can see inside. I put this on my garage door windows and it's great for security and is truly one way as long as no interior garage lights are on. It's also very easy to apply!

All privacy film is light-source based. That is, you will *always* be able to see through privacy film from the darker side to the lighter side. Therefore, if there is more light inside the house than outside--think night time--then you will be able to see into the house. Therefore, if there is more light inside the house than outside--think night time--then you will be able to see into the house. However, during the day when it is virtually always a lot lighter outside than inside, you will be able to see out of the house, but not into it. Your garage is the same way. If the lights are out in the garage, this film will provide *excellent* privacy. However, if it is night and the lights are on in the garage, then you will be able to see into the garage as you will be looking from the dark side to the light. Of course, the tint will greatly reduce the visibility, but you will be able to see in none-the-less. Read Less

You would install on the inside of the windows. Be careful when removing the air bubbles as the glass is likely to be a thin glass.

It does darken room it appears as if it's a gloomy gonna rain type of day even with full sun. From outside you can't see anything on inside during day and at night only if bright lights are on. On that note at night from inside you need to open door or window to see clearly cuz it is dark. Hope this helps

This will knock down about 90% of light coming in, you will still be able to see out. If you're looking to block out all light, then window tint is not what you need, try drapes that block 100% of the light.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Does what it is supposed to do Installed in my garage as I was putting up insulation and didn't want it to be seen from the outside (HOA rules). I used the baby shampoo and water solution instead of buying the application kit. Just make sure you have a sharp blade to trim the excess. The film was a little tricky to keep spraying while removing it from the backing but is easily correctable if it starts sticking together. August 2, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Exactly what we needed for privacy Installation was quick and easy, and it has done exactly what my wife and I had hope for. It provides a view outside while allowing privacy to us with the door open. Because of the color of our door while looking at it from the street, it is difficult to see or know if the door is open or closed. It does however, make the outside view a bit darker, although that seems to be a plus because we can feel a noticeable difference as it filters the sunshine UV rays. April 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Product is good for room darkening I like that it darkens the room especially in the day time since the area I live in gets to be over 90 degrees. now the house is cool during that time have not seen how it works in the winter. The only thing I think that it need were measuring guides on the back which would have made it easier to measure when cutting the film because there will be a lot of extra if not measured correctly. Overall I like it and plan on doing the glass doors next. August 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Bought colorful privacy film instead I would've had to still put a curtain up with it so it wasn't what I was looking for. August 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Gila Privacy Film I bought this because the sun shines very bright in our new home. Particularly our bedrooms. We don't have screens on our windows. This item was very simple to apply. I did it by myself! I watched a short video on youtube. I did buy the kit since it came with a squeege and blade. I wasnt sure if I had those items or not. This stuff is God send!!! Im very happt eith this purchase! February 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Works very well - easy I used this on the side lights of our front door. In the evening, the sun blazes through and shines directly in your eyes if you are sitting in the family room. In the summer, the sun really heats up the room. These are single pain glass panels. Measuring and cutting perfectly is very difficult and very important. Since this is the static cling type of material, it is very thick and even with a sharp utility knife, you can not easily cut off overage once this is on the window. It stretches when you try to cut it on the window and hence the final cut is not a clean straight line. It is best to cut with the scissors prior to putting it up. However, since this is super dark, if you are not able to get the exact measurement/cut, it is terribly obvious where the gaps are from inside looking out. From the outside, these look totally black and are amazing for privacy. Removing and reapplying the pieces is very simple. Since these were only side lights, I was able to do this project alone. This reduces the amount of incoming light tremendously and it reduced the heat noticeably as well. June 28, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by It does what it says on the box. This product is good but putting it up is not a one person job. July 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Outstanding and easy to apply I purchased the Glare Control in Smoke tint #10389340 at the North Spokane Home Depot to cut out the 4 a.m. early sunrise here in Spokane. I have utilized the Gila Privacy products in the past with difficulty in the application process. This new product has really changed all the application challenges for sure. EASY TO APPLY and works VERY well in cutting out the sun glare without interfering with our garden views. May 26, 2016
