I own a mail order company, and we store goods near a long line of sunny windows. The sun rests on the shelves holding a lot of boxed goods, and bleaches out the boxes, making them less desirable. I thought I might us this film to cover the windows top prevent this. It looks like this blocks UV, but does it also block the actual sun's rays? If not, can you suggest another product?.

Answer:
Yes, we also had to figure out something because the sun rays were so bright that we couldn't change our channels on our cable TV box when the door was open, we have a small living room so changing it around would have been hard to do and this blocks the sunrays and we are now able to leave door open for the doggy door or when it's just a nice day out.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Are you ready to start saving some money? This window tint is a must have for all of your south facing windows in your house! I monitor my electricity usage daily via PGE's web site. I also own solar panels and have converted my home and made it an energy star home. LED light bulbs in every light fixture and more. I used 2 kilo watts less from the prior day after installing this tint on the two windows that are south facing. The house was noticeably cooler in both rooms after this tint was installed. We also closed the blinds to block out more sun light. We were able two hours longer before we had to turn the air conditioner on after installing this tint. Installation is very easy and it took less than an hour to install this tint on four windows. The tint is very thick and heavy duty. 1. Measure twice and cut once. 2. Get a spray bottle filled with warm water and a couple drops of dish wash soap. 3. Get yourself a good squeegee or tint application kit to scrape the air bubbles out. Note: Don't worry about getting every little bubble out. They will dry on their own. This tint is awesome and can be taken off in the winter to allow the sun to get into the house to warm it more. This will pay itself off over time with the money you will save on cooling costs. Plus the additional privacy is pretty cool too. June 2, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by WINDOW FILM & INSTALLION KIT THIS WAS A MISLEADING AD OF WHAT THE SCREEN FILM WAS VERY DISSATISFIED & RETURNED THIS ITEM October 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Did theo trick!! Fairly easy to install on windows, really cut the glare down from direct sunlight, and added a little more privacy.....In other words...It did the trick for me!!! May 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by This film really did the trick! My office has westward facing windows and when the sun starts going down it would hit me right in the eyes. I really could not see anything, I had to duck down under my monitor to be able to see it. I did some research and found this film, I figured the price was great so why not give it a try. It was pretty easy to put up, even on the huge glass doors of my office. The real test came once the sun started going down the next day, it really blocked a huge portion of the glare and I was able to work at my desk without having to crouch down to see my computer. I would definitely recommend this product for anyone that has a problem with afternoon glare. December 15, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cool Down the Blinding Sun Bought really attractive/expensive wood window blinds...but they did nothing to darken the bedroom. Decided to try the Gila window film and I'm thrilled with the product! Easy to install (use plenty of water) and left no air bubbles. Darkened the room to a comfortable level and noticed an additional benefit that the room is not as hot during the day (hopefully will lower my AC bills!). August 9, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beware! Blurry after final installation I purchased this product to block the extreme glare and sun streaming through my windows. I live on the water and the glare was intense. When applied correctly, works great EXCEPT for the fact that the view is BLURRY and DISTORTED now. 1. Yes, Went up easily with two people..one person holding each corner and move fast. 2. Use a soapy mix in a spray bottle and be generous with it during installation, it will make life easier. 3. Take your time and work out the bubbles from the center out. 4. Check your work from the outside too! 5. Finally your done and NOW you have a BLURRY view with no glare in your home. I would recommend ONLY if seeing clearly out of your windows is not important! March 22, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great purchase works perfect... This was a simple solution to our sun glare problem. September 15, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by So easy No Kit is Needed I have a large 8 foot arched window and i needed a ladder to apply this film. I first cut a pattern by using paper that I could trace the arch with and cut it and trim it to fit. When I knew the pattern was perfect i cut the film. I used soap and water to spray the window and applied the film. I plant to remove this when the suns pattern changes no longer hits these windows. The low west setting sun is very bad in this room and hits my computer and the side of my eyes. I like the ability to remove this anytime I want. If you use the Kit with their solution you better plan on buying the removal spray also. Don't go there, it is not necessary. August 24, 2011
