No glare control at all, what a waste of money! My cheap privacy film worked better and there is no privacy with this. Like the mirror film it is private in the day but anyone can see through at night.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Liny Beware! Blurry after final installation
I purchased this product to block the extreme glare and sun streaming through my windows. I live on the water and the glare was intense. When applied correctly, works great EXCEPT for the fact that the view is BLURRY and DISTORTED now.
1. Yes, Went up easily with two people..one person holding each corner and move fast.
2. Use a soapy mix in a spray bottle and be generous with it during installation, it will make life easier.
3. Take your time and work out the bubbles from the center out.
4. Check your work from the outside too!
5. Finally your done and NOW you have a BLURRY view with no glare in your home.
I would recommend ONLY if seeing clearly out of your windows is not important!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JRS118 So easy No Kit is Needed
I have a large 8 foot arched window and i needed a ladder to apply this film. I first cut a pattern by using paper that I could trace the arch with and cut it and trim it to fit. When I knew the pattern was perfect i cut the film. I used soap and water to spray the window and applied the film. I plant to remove this when the suns pattern changes no longer hits these windows. The low west setting sun is very bad in this room and hits my computer and the side of my eyes. I like the ability to remove this anytime I want. If you use the Kit with their solution you better plan on buying the removal spray also. Don't go there, it is not necessary.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Sunnygirl WORKS GREAT!
I have an arch window that is a problem during the summer months and I have tried to figure out a temporary (4 mo) solution that does not include one of those silly coverings that looks like a fan. While looking at faucets online I came across window films - removable. I was thrilled. I went online and watched several different manufacturers' videos on how to install and figured I could do this (highly recommend). Based on the price which is great - I figured even if I messed this up I wasn't wasting much money. I made a template from heavy duty paper - that I will use again next year - used it as a guide for cutting. Cleaned the window thoroughly and as suggested in videos I made up the solution of baby shampoo and water. It did take two of us just because of the width of this window but I must say it was very easy to apply but requires a little patience/time. Will definitely do this again next summer. Now for the bads.....after getting the window film installed and stepping off the ladder noticed a "stripe" going horizontally across the window. Got out the remainder of the film and after holding it up to the light confirmed it was the film not my install. I decided to just leave it up there and make sure I check next year before cutting and installing. Other issue - this film does not have anywhere on this website about not using on low-E windows but says on box not to use because heat could damage window. Almost every window now is low-E. The sun hits this window at an angle not head-on so I went ahead to see how it works this summer and if the window gets too hot.... Still - it has been up for a month and I LOVE IT (except for the stripe - ha!)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Cparker Worth the money!
I stupidly didn't buy enough for all my windows. Now I can't stand the windows without it. Keeps out heat and glare. It is a little blurry to look out but totally worth it! I cleaned the window with rubbing alcohol, cut the film to fit with scissors, sprayed window with water and a little liquid laundry detergent, applied film, some more spray and smoothed it out with a credit card. Worked beautiful!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cocoagrandma was easy to install & blocks sun very well
two people to install only to make it easier, so each could hold a corner & so backing did not adhere to film. used soap & water on window/film not solution. blocked i would say 60-75% of sun/heat which is what i wanted in grandchilds room. went up in less than 5 minutes. measuring & cutting took longest! would buy again!!!!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Mds03197 Gila Window Film: Smoke, Glare Control
I've gone through about 12 rolls and here's my opinion:
- fairly easy to install (after the first few windows)
- reduces glare considerably
- 36" width is the only size Gila offers with this product. I have a few 42" windows and a Gila Rep told me to piece two strips together, then apply clear nail polish to the crease.
- After you apply this product, there's a distorted, somewhat "blurry" view from inside your home looking out
- Gila does not define the life expectancy of this product either on their website nor the product packaging
Overall, you get what you pay for. This is a cheap product so you can't expect everything to be just perfect. Save your money on the applicator solution, liquid detergent and water work just as well and doesn't evaporate as quickly. Rubbing alcohol works fine for final prep of the window.
