I had a similar extending bar from another manufacturer that was solid and figured that it would be comparable. I was mistaken.
This one is plastic and therefore bends..breaks!
All joints are fixed to the bar, so as others complained, if your threads aren't lined up you will not have a bar that is straight. (The shower head was pointing at the wall for me when the bar was secured tightly.)
It's just a complete waste.

Excellent. Easy to install. Looks great. Very close to expensive ones.

We've used these adjustable arms before to extend shower arms that only reach our clavicles in older bathrooms but this is the best one yet. A terrific value, it looks more expensive in place than it does in the package. We've only used it a couple of weeks, but so far no leaks and it stays in place.

I purchased this after I managed to break the connector hose on our old one. These sometimes need to be soaked in vinegar if the holes clog but that doesn't happen often. This is very durable and the pressure is stronger than our old one which I like. Very fair price and easy to install. Would recommend this.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by cindustries 5 years and still happy.
I found myself on this page after looking to see if HD still carried this product as I was looking to buy another one for another location and was surprised to see many low ratings. I bought one about 5 years ago and aside from the occasional flicking of the rubber nozzle to clear out the stream, it has performed flawless for me....it's still installed and in use daily. No leaks, installation was a breeze ( I installed one at my GF's place about a year ago, and that one as well has no issues). I've kept mine in a stationary position all these years, while the GF folds hers after she's done. Even with daily folding, the seals have held up so far. It's true that the threads may not allow the nut to bottom out and that was the case on the recent install, but a build up of Teflon tape was what I used and it's held.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dave Poorly designed, poorly built
The fixed attachment nut means that you have to cross your fingers that it will end up in the right position when you're screwing it in. Ours didn't. In addition to that, one of the joints snapped as I was trying to tighten it further to get the joint in the correct up/down position (with my hand, and not forcefully).
Spend some more dough and get something better-made.

Had to use Teflon to seal at threads the rubber invert didn't. Once you move it around a bit it's great
