Tank leans forward and is loose, seat won't stay up.

I noticed after my toilet was installed (by a professional) that the tank wobbles and leans forward. This causes the toilet seat to fall down. Please advise.
Asked by: Rosie
The toilet comes with two clear rectangle soft plastic pieces that go under the tank to stop the wobbling.

Seat is very loose...how do you tighten? See no screws...

Asked by: TSC
You need to take a slotted screwdriver and turn the big plastic screws (under the cover that snaps down) and hold the nut on the underside of the toilet.

They are a beautiful unit and function perfectly on both flush levels (remember, they ARE low water use units). I had matching seats from my old units so the "service grade" seats they give you were no problem. ONE BIG CAUTION... you WILL break the tank if you tighten it down to stop the wobble. Just cut four 1/2" tall sections from a piece of 1/2' plastic pipe and put them next to the rubber sealing ring, then "gently" tighten the tank against them. I don't know why the vendor doesn't use a softer ring (or supply the spacers).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Purchase I've bought 4 of these so far for our apartments. Our water bills have dropped quite a bit even as the water rates were increased. Tenants like them so far. I plan on buying more.

This toilet is reasonably priced, is aesthetically appealing, and works great! The key is to be sure it is LEVEL. I have no issues with a wobbling tank, etc. LEVEL IT! It functions best i.e. one flush for solids, if both buttons are pushed and held for a moment. I highly recommend it as a cost-efficient & water saving toilet. My entire family has no complaints. RE: photos an extension cord is present for the electric candle in the window as part of holiday decorating (please ignore it)

I love the dual flush option on the top of the tank and seems to have great flush power. Its been in use for about a month and no issues yet. Only negative so far is the low water level in the bowl after the flush leaves occasional skid marks. Just have to make sure you are all the way back on the seat to hit the bulls eye. definitely met my expectations and the ease of online ordering with in store pick up was a great bonus.

The square trim profile and efficiency flush attracted us to buy this toilet, but the toilet does not work because the button does not reach the actuator in the tank. Tried several buttons from local HD, but don't bother with customer service at Glacier Bay... they say they will send one that works, but never arrives. Note that the flush buttons are cheap plastic and toilet seat is also pretty low end. The provided wax ring is low volume and too short to work if your flange is below grade (such as any typical tile installation, pick up a taller one if you think you might need it to save a trip). If it worked it wouldn't be bad for the money, but what good is a toilet that you can't flush? One star.

Good overall, but the pre-assembed bottom tank bolts were not properly aligned, prohibiting correct entry to the toilet. I loosened and realigned as best i could , but got within about a sixteenth of an inch of proper alignment. Upon tightening the tank to the toilet, the tank got within a short distance of setting properly, but further tightening risked breaking the tank. I discussed this at your Bellingham, MA store and decided to fill the gap with pads usually used at the bottom of chair legs. It is now installed and working fine, but with a couple of tweaks that should not have been necessary and stretched out a simple job. I will check on occasion to see if the tank can be safely lowered as the rubber gets squeezed.

As many have stated, it certainly does leave some residual organic waste on the bowl after robust use...but not a lot, and it seems to wash away soon enough. It is quiet, saves water, and is comfortable, even though the included seat is rather cheap and flimsy. For the money this seems like a pretty good deal, overall. I did need to flush some debris from the valve system after installing....do NOT bother trying to get any advice from Home Depot; while all quite pleasant, I found no one to be an adult with common sense, and overall they were of no help to me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good buy This is a good dual flush toilet, but it does take a bit of work to get it set up properly. Some people complain about tank wobble, but this will only occur if you don't place the clear, plastic, rectangular tabs over the ridge on the bowl (at the front edge of the tank) before placing the tank on the toilet. The gasket that sits between the tank and bowl is quite large and can't be compressed enough to securely seat the tank unless you place the plastic tabs on the ridge (you can barely see the edge of the tabs underneath the tank in my photo). This isn't explained in the directions, so it would be easy to miss, and there is no mention of the tabs anywhere in the directions or in the parts list. That said, once the tabs are installed and the tank bolts tightened down, the tank is secure and does not wobble at all. Additionally, you will need to follow the directions in the YouTube video in the pictures above for setting up the proper amount of water flow for each flush. Otherwise, you may end up with the situation where there is not enough water flow (or too much), and even when only flushing liquids, toilet paper could get stuck in the interior of the bowl and require a second flush, thus wasting water instead of saving it. Again, this can be adjusted, but you need to take the time to follow the directions in the video and set it up correctly. The seat and lid were of a flimsy plastic, so I opted to replace them right away with a soft-close lid (Slow Close Lift-Off Elongated Closed Front Toilet Seat in White - Model # 1570SLOW 000 Internet #204599315 Store SKU #1000023653), so plan on spending an extra $30-$40 if you want a quality seat. In spite of these few issues, it's a good toilet that sits at a comfortable height. The finish details on the tank lid are a nice touch.
