Customer Questions & Answers

Can both shower heads flow water at the same time?

Can both shower heads flow water at the same time?
Asked by: Rachel
Yes, there is a knob on the side that you can turn to have the shower head on by itself, the hand held on by itself or turn again to have both on at the same time.

Do I need anything else to attach to old shower head?

Asked by: cassie2
Remove old showerhead. Attach new showerhead to shower arm (pipe) coming out of shower wall. If the shower arm is not threaded, but has a ball at the end, replace the shower arm with a new, threaded-end shower arm.

back pressure in shower valve leaks at diverter control when glacier bay hand held installed?

leaks at diverter lever of valve then drips down back of wall and follows down overflow pipe at trip lever and drips onto ceiling below. this is the second time installation of this shower head style has been done at two separate units and the same problem occurred with brand new delta and moen shower valves. these glacier bay hand held shower units must have alot of back pressure and by-passes seal at diverter.Any body else find this ? tired of replacing ceilings in tenant spaces. had gone thru all the grouting business, sealing around tub spouts and tub/wall intersections, soap dish trays and shower valve cover trims.

Use Teflon tape and will solve your problem.

3-Spray Hand Shower and Shower Head Combo Kit in Oil Rubbed Bronze is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 21.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I can't stop the leaking I chose this model because of the low price but unfortunately, I should've gone with something different. Installation was relatively straight-forward as the instructions were good. I wanted this combo kit so I can use my shower but also wash my dogs. The first few months were great and I was very pleased with the product. Now, the joints leak like crazy and there is nothing I can do to stop it. It is not leaking on the threads so adding Teflon tape is not an option. Quality needs to be improved before I would recommend this product. The idea is great but the product is flawed.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from What a leaky mess! Simple to install. Cheap to buy. Those are the "good" things about it. But what a piece of plastic junk! It leaks copiously at the place where the hose attaches to the shower arm. There's a little sticker on the very part that leaks which says it is supposed to drip to prevent water flowing back to the water supply. If only it was a drip! It's a leak that sprays, instead of drips. I certainly don't want my floor and walls (outside of the tub) soaked every time I turn on my shower. I replaced the rubber washer, but it's just as bad as before. I've researched for two days about how to remedy this, but what I've realized is that there is no cure for cheap plastic junk.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from pretty to look at only!! my husband could not find a spot where this did not leak after installing...It will be going back to our local Home Depot and advise them not to put in back on the shelf for someone else to have to return it...not a good buy!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Poorly designed product, really. I've had this Glacier Bay 3 function showerhead and hand shower combo kit for about 6-8 months now. I've given this product a 3/5 for 'Ease of Installation', because it really is fairly straight forward to install; follow the instructions and you're golden. I've given this product a 1/5 for both 'Quality' and 'Value' because it is made from cheap plastic parts (but really at this price point, what does one expect) and value-wise, I could have spent the same amount of money on a different product and likely got better results. The combo kit functioned fairly well for the first 6-8 months, granted I never really used the hand shower portion. Some lime-scale/scum built up on the showerhead and at a couple of joints, so I removed the combo kit and cleaned it (I kept every washer in the same position and paid very close attention to the routing of the hoses, because the design requires it due to pressure issues). Upon re-applying some teflon plumbers tape to the shower inlet (as recommended by the manufacturer), a seal could not be re-established, so it leaks. It doesn't leak at the connection between the shower inlet and the combo kit, but at the next joint (the combo kit itself). I re-applied the plumbers tape, double checked the hose routing, and reinstalled the combo kit 3 times, to no avail. To make matters worse, the hand shower portion of the kit is too heavy, so when it's put in place, the whole apparatus twists, causing the hand shower to fall out. If it wasn't so annoying, I'd probably laugh (actually, I really am kind of laughing, it's so absurd). What I've ended up doing is removing the showerhead from the combo kit and attaching that directly to the shower inlet; works like a champ (of course, there's no hand shower now, so what was the point of buying a combo kit?). Were I to see you in a Home Depot store, I would probably say, "Pardon me, you might consider going with something else; I bought it and it doesn't work like you'd think it would." Maybe consider going with something else?

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Lots of possibilities; too many adjustments. The shower kit has two showerheads; a regular one and a handshower. And it has a diverter control on the left side of the bracket that allows you to adjust the water to all shower, all handshower, or both showerheads at the same time. Of course, because this is a low-flow showerhead (at 2.5 GPM) using both at the same time gives you some weak pressure. The instructions were great until step 4. Be sure to remove the two rubber gaskets from the kit and insert one into each end of the showerhose. Then attach the showerhose to the diverter and handshower. Ignore step 6. This model requires the use of thread sealant tape. Fortunately, it is provided. Most showerheads these days use gaskets only, eliminating the need for thread sealant tape. Even with the tape, I had to tighten the diverter to the shower arm extra-tight to avoid leaks. In the end, I was able to do that. Unfortunately, this design had a round connector, rather than a flat-sided connector (which normally allows an adjustable wrench), so I had to use pliers to tighten. The unit is mostly plastic, except for the diverter connector to the shower arm. It has the same 3 settings for each showerhead, which is enough variety to satisfy most people. And if you use both showerheads a the same time, you can adjust each showerhead spray setting, and position, and pressure (using the diverter). Perhaps too complicated. The showerhose is really stiff and will take a few days to straighten out.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So-So Showerhead Needed for my husband. Bought because of color. Plastic parts are poorly made. We had to buy another tube for the handheld showerhead almost immediately. Now functions fairly well - wish I could have found a higher quality in oil-rubbed bronze.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for the price! We didn't have any of the problems that previous posters mentioned. Works well and a great value for the money!
