Customer Questions & Answers

Can the pushbutton assembly be removed without tools in order the clean the drain?

Asked by: Vval
I have this model and the entire 2" push button assembly easily lifts out by lifting from the top. It is not threaded.

Is there a drain for a sink with a 1 1/2 hole

What is the diameter of the part that goes through the sink body? I have a sink with a tight 1 1/2" hole or thimble to exit the sink.

Why does sink still drain when in pushed down position?

I just installed this on a new vanity. It appears I installed it according to the instructions and the small pictures, but when in pushed down position, the sink will not hold water. I have not experienced a drain that sits above the sink, so that in and of itself was new to me. It appears there is only one way to install this. Is there an o ring or washer in the push down stopper? If so, there is not one on the one I purchased.
Asked by: Curious
This drain pipe ensemble is designed for sinks with-out an overflow. For safety it will not hold the fluids to avoid over flow issues. Sorry for the inconvenient but the pipe actually is doing its job by not holding the water. You need to buy one for sinks with overflow holes.

DOES NOT SEAT FLAT

I installed this on a sink that has over flow holes. Didn't realize that it's intended for sinks WITHOUT THE OVERFLOW, however, it works fine. Only thing is the tension/ push-down stop does not seat flat against the ceramic sink drain hole. Is that because it's purposely designed to keep a large opening gap so the water can drain quicker (since it's intended for sinks WITHOUT AN OVERFLOW HOLE? Not a complaint... just a question. Works fine and will keep it but probably should have purchased the push down type that sits perfectly flat against the drain when closed. Would look better. .

3 in. Brass Decorative Pushbutton Drain in Brushed Nickel with No Overflow is rated 4.0 out of 5 by 2.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Brushed nickel push button drain I picked up two of these brushed nickel push-button drains for my Kohlar sinks with my wall mounted faucets. I thought the push-button was a great route instead of a rubber plug with the chain or metal plugs that are extremely hard to pull up. Since this doesn't have overflow holes, my plumber just drilled two holes in each pipe and it came out sweet! I didn't want to special order one with the overflow holes and have to wait for it to arrive. I bought it and my plumber installed it the next day! It's great that Home Depot actually carries these and have some in stock. Great heavy duty quality. I highly recommend this type if you have vessel sinks or if you are sick of having to deal with the rod with plunger that can sometimes fail to plug your water in the sink. Very happy addition to my Massachusetts bathroom!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It is good, except it leaks a little on the bottom piece. Bottom extension leaks, the black plastic gasket doesn't provide any tight seal.
