How fix it?

I installed one of this and the water it's going very slow , worts yet if wash tooth paste , the was not instructions manual in the package . What 's the solve?
Asked by: Stacker89
The fault causing slow draining is due to the sink lacking the overflow path which injects air in standard sinks allowing the faster flow. Block the over flow hole in a standard sink and it too will drain slow. The solution is to add a path for air to get in and out of the drain. I put a tee in the drain with an air admittance valve and voila! The drain runs normally.

Is this a 1" or 1 1/4"? I measured it after installation at 4" and found the diameter to be 1" OD I'm having issues finding rest of drain pieces to fit the plastic Ptrap, which is standard 1 1/2" kit...I found a few items that I know will work with 1 1/4" drain as far as couplers, connectors, extenders, but I need to make sure that this is a 1 1/4" before I purchase them.

You do not have to modify anything, this is merely surface tension as you would find on any newly manufactured product. The fix is to just rub a little dish soap on the grid, once you use it the residual soap film will keep it flowing at a normal rate.

As mentioned previously mentioned, it leaks between the two tubes and the water doesn't drain unless you modify the holes in the drain plate. If you are handy with tools, you can make it work, but you shouldn't have to - it should work correctly right out of the package.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good quality, just make sure it's what you want This is a quality, metal product. The rubber seals are good, and all threading is nice and tight. The one down side is this does work with an overflow sink but, the draining will be slow due to the lack of, 'venting' that the overflow usually allows for. Keep that in mind.

Both have the same issues. 1) Drains VERY slowly. How slow? Your sink will fill up because the drain can't keep up. Either there aren't enough holes in the strainer or the holes are too small. if you rub your fingers over the holes to break the surface tension of the water, it drains faster. Who wants to stick their finger in dirty water to get their sink to drain? Another reviewer mentioned something about this being due to the sink not having an overflow drain. My sinks do have overflow drains. Another reviewer mentioned air lock in the pipes. There is no air lock in my pipes. I;m sure of this because they are tee'd together. As water displaces air on one side, air is released out the other side. Besides, the drains that were in there before worked just fine. 2) Leak! the lower tube screws into the upper threaded tube. There is no seal, just metal to metal threads. Both drains were dripping.
