Rated 4 out of 5Â by Tedd Does the job, a little pricey
We bought this to replace a failing drain. Our sink is stainless and cheaper stainless options are out there, but this seemed to match the finish better. Installs like most other drains out there. Let's hope it lasts.

We had a new countertop installed that included a built in sink but no strainers. So we bought these. They seem sturdy and pretty basic. Installation was normal. They do the job.

We purchased two of these in brushed nickel when we remodeled our kitchen. Thought that by spending the extra money, they would last. Not difficult to install and they looked great but after 2 years, one of the strainers broke. When we tried to replace it, we were only able to find cheap replacement strainers. When we called Home Depot and Glacier Bay to see about ordering a replacement, we were told you couldn't just get the strainer--they only sold the whole assembly and that "Most people replace the entire unit when the strainer breaks." That seems a bit excessive for a broken strainer. Expected better from a higher end unit like this and will not looking at Glacier Bay next time!

I bought #2 of these for a new double sink installed 3 years ago. The original installer didn't install them properly and they started leaking. I took them out and tried to reset them with new gaskets and putty. Unfortunately the threads and nuts are machined so poorly that it was inpossible to tighten the nut enough to get a good seal. They looked OK, but apparently the threads were stripped. I expected a little more quality considering the price paid. On the plus side the finish looked almost new after 3 years.

Bought this to replace an old strainer while replacing a broken disposal on the other side.
Installation should be easy but the strainer threads were bad and the flange nut wouldn't seat properly-even though it looked good, it leaked. The metal nut to fasten the drain pipe was also poorly threaded and would not seal properly.
Returned it-bought a brass strainer at another retailer and was done in less than 5 minutes with no leaks.
Price is too high for such a low quality product.
