How do I get a mirrored light strip that comes out 5" from wall to go over the surface mount cabinet?

The medicine cabinet is the 48" mirrored surface mount cabinet.

buy a 8 ft 2x6 and cut it down to the width of the cabinet or cut to fit between the walls you are mounting the cabinet on .you can bevel the edges or not drill a hole big enough in the wood to fish the electrical wire thru. paint it stain it etc mount it to the wall then mount the light fixture to the wood it will be spaced out far enough .building a box is un necessary if you want more add another board. .I even use a 1x6 board

Anyone know how to get the doors to be level?

We have tried adjusting the hinges as directions show, but it doesn't seem to help the doors become more level. They are sloping down and don't meet up in a straight line along the bottom edge of the cabinet!

Did remove doors. found studs. propped up cab with paint cans and books to right height and leveled. predrilled though both cab and wall studded. It would be nice if they supplied screws with washers. I did put extra primer on ends of side wall. and I use plastic trays on shelves for anything messy . Customer service has been great both times with minor issues and providing extra shelves. If you take care of the unit it will last. Great buy for the price.

AFTER PURCHASING AND INSTALLING THIS CABINET, I could NOT get the mirrored doors to align properly with the 'European hinges'. I went back to the store I made this purchase from and amazingly, the display model hanging on the wall in the bath department had the SAME issues with the misaligned doors. I purchased this cabinet because of its sleek/simple design but the overall product quality is minimal, at best.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from the mirrored doors warped, The mirrored doors warped after 3 weeks causing the hinges to bind and bend. I Know, a piece of glass mirror can't bend right? well, these do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I do not recommend Very cheap construction, perhaps that is to be expected. However it goes too far. All three doors are not flat, but curved concave as you look at them. Because of that, two of the doors strike the edge before closing. They can be closed, for now. They may not last long doing that. The shelf "hardware" and support holes could use better quality control, some are too loose. So far, one support fell out and I cannot find it. No spares were provided.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to install, great quality Wonderful improvement to the bathroom. HUGE mirror lightened up the bathroom. When wife stands in front of center mirror and open both side mirrors, she can see her hair from sides and behind. 1) Remove the mirrors. It became light enough for my wife to hold it in position as I put in the first bolts. 2) It took three hours, start to cleanup. 3) Cut the box to make a piece of cardboard that is the same size as the cabinet. You can move this around on the wall to get the best placement. 4) You may want more shelves. I had sheets of glass cut at the local glass store and used wooden dowels as pegs. (The center cabinet is slightly narrower than the other two).

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I Can Write Better Instructions Than Glacier Bay OK, a few tips from someone who just installed this cabinet. It does not come with good installation instructions, it might as well have come with none. First, make sure you remove the doors. The instructions do not tell you to do that, but unless you want to end up incredibly frustrated and possibly with broken glass in your bathroom, remove the doors. Also, the instructions tell you to drill four holes into the cabinet and predrill the holes into the wall. But there is no point in pre-drilling into the wall without the cabinet in place, because you won't be able to see the holes in the wall through the holes that you put into the cabinet when you go to line them up. So do this, have your helper hold the cabinet where you want it, then take a pencil and outline the corners. Put the cabinet down, then use a level and measuring tape to measure where your holes will be from the corner pencil marks. (We used the studs, so our holes were 9 inches in on the left, and 5 inches on the right. (We went 4 inches up/down from the top/bottom.)) Then take your measurements to your cabinet and drill the holes through the back of the cabinet. Then have your helper hold the cabinet back up against the wall, match up the corners, and drill through the holes that you had pre-drilled in the cabinet and on into the wall. Then put in the screws. The cabinet does not come with any hardware, which didn't bother me because the hardware that usually comes with these types of things tends to suck, so we used good quality wood screws that we had at the house. We initially tried to use cabinet screws, but our drill is a piece of junk so we could not get them in. Either way the cabinet feels very sturdy. I had no problems getting the shelves to stay put. I also had no problems getting the doors to line up when I screwed them back on. It's really just going to take a lot of patience and an extra person to help you. The total amount of time with the removing the doors, doing the measurements, lining up the cabinet, screwing it in, and replacing the doors ended up being about three hours. I had this same type of cabinet in my condo for five years and it looked just as good as new the day we sold our condo. So we'll see if this one holds up for as long as that one did.

This was exactly what I was looking for, but the doors were so warped we couldn't use it. It looked like the mirrors in a fun house. We returned it and purchased a similar cabinet from a different manufacturer.
