I'm looking for a faucet for a 111 gallon whirlpool tub, and need a faucet that will fill it quickly. I have seen many roman tub faucets listed as 19 gallons per minute average (varies based on water pressure). This faucet lists a minimum flow rate but no average or max.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately the only information we have is what is available on the Specification sheet which just shows the minimum flow rate.

Answer:
The flow rate is 2.4 gallons per minute. This will fill a tub in fair time.

I have had this product for more than two years and have had no problems with it. My water pressure is great, my step-dad had no trouble installing it and he is not a professional. I'm not sure why this product has gotten such poor reviews. I love mine.

Hi Jo, There is really no trick -- you just line up the open end of the clip with the slots on both sides of the bottom threads of the spout hookup and push it on so it locks the o-ring side of the split tee in place. You do have to push the tee all the way onto the threads before installing the clip.
What I found tricky was that I had to angle the tee relative to the spout so that there wouldn't be any kinks in the braided stainless steel hoses that attach from the tee to the individual hot and cold water valves. When viewed from below the deck the hoses form something like a letter "S" where the tee is the crossbar of the "S" curve. If that doesn't explain it for you, when I get the tile installed so I can finally install the tub faucet, I'll post a picture of my installation. My tile is supposed to be delivered tomorrow and hopefully it won't be all broken like the last batch they tried to deliver. Read Less

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.2 out of 5 by 19 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Very Attractive and Economical This was the second Glacier Bay faucet we bought for our new tub installation. The first one. an Edgewood bath faucet, turned out to be too short to reach the tub when installed on the deck. We didn't know we needed a Roman tub faucet. This one fit the bill nicely and is pretty easy to install. (I installed it temporarily on the plywood sub-deck to make sure it worked, then removed it to install the cement board and ceramic tile tub surround.) I was impressed that the lines supplied to connect the hot and cold water valves to the spout are braided stainless steel. However, the stiffness of these lines makes hookup more difficult, especially if you have limited space under the tub deck. They need to be routed so that you don't kink the lines. I solved part of this problem by placing the valves 12 inches apart instead of the usual 8 inches. I would love to include a picture of my final installation but we are still waiting for the tile we ordered from HD two weeks ago. One complaint I have is that the installation instructions say you need holes in the deck of 1-3/8 inches and 1-1/8 inches, neither of which is a common hole saw size. The fact is, the valve bodies will fit through a standard 1-1/4 inch hole and the spout will fit through a 1 inch hole. I found this out after I had already ordered diamond hole saws in the odd sizes specified to drill the holes through the tile and cement board.. August 11, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good quality tub faucet for a deacent price The tub faucet was easy to assemble and works flawlesly April 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Basic, Not too stylish This is just an average faucet, not too stylish, but it was inexpensive. Builder had a tough time installing it and adjusting the handles. Hasn't leaked so far. Awesome water flow, though. Would recommend if you don't want to spend much and have not much style to look at. January 27, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it! I have had this faucet for more than two years. I have had no problems with it, it still looks nice, my step-dad installed it and had little trouble (he is not a plumber). I like it so much I am looking for the sink and shower faucets that match! January 20, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Only Trckle on Hot Water This is the same as a previous review. We installed this faucet on a roman tub. The hot water side is barely more than a trickle. The cartridge on the hot water side was changed out and it did not fix the problem. It will end up costing us much more in plumbers fees than we saved by buying a cheap faucet. I'm having similar issues with the matching Glacier Bay Builders tub and shower faucet as well. Guess you get what you pay for. November 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Cost me a fortuen to fix They look great. BUT after 18 months, the cold tap totally failed. Spinning uselessly. Called a plumber - they only way to fix this is to replace the entire faucet, which means ripping off the tile, cutting through the wood, replacing the set from underneath the tub, replacing the wood and tile. Cost: about $600 plus the cost of a new tub faucet. Read all the reviews here - failure by these products happens all too often. I will not be buying another one from Glacier Bay - they seem cheap, but they turn out to be really expensive, after the necessary repairs!! Not happy. May 7, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Slow drip I purchased these Glacier Bay faucet for a bathroom renovation. They happened to be on sale at the time. When the contractor installed them I noticed water drops dripping from the spout. If you did not pay close attention you would miss it and not realize that the faucet drips water because the water dripped at such a very slow pace. Unfortunately for us the contractor had already placed the tiles around the bathtub so he had to cut a hole in the drywall in order to remove them. This cost us more money in the long run in having to cut through the drywall. I returned them to the store for another brand. I am very disappointed and will never purchase this product again. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by I love my faucet It has the reach we needed for the soaker tub we had. It has great water flow. It fills the tub in a very short time. I like the way it looks. It goes well with what I already had. June 2, 2015
