Getting unit (tub faucet) to operate correctly

I just recently had this unit installed and we're not able to get the faucet to just run bath water. When the diverter is pulled up the shower works pretty good, but when pushed down both the shower head and the faucet runs. Any help is appreciated.
Asked by: kb
Thank you for your question. There could be few issues going on that could cause this problem. It could be that there is not enough distance from the valve body to the tub spout, the tub spout is not letting the water through fast enough or Pex pipe was used in the insulation which can also effect the flow and cause the water to back up and come out of both the shower and the spout . We suggest you contact Customer Care at 1-877-580-5682 and they can do some troubleshooting with you.

Increase shower flow rate

How do I increase the shower gpm/flow rate?
Asked by: cloe
Thank you for your question. There is no way to increase the flow rate in this unit. you should be getting 2 GPM on the showerhead and 2.4 GPM thru the tub spout. If you are getting less, we suggest you contact Customer Service at 1-877-580-5682 so they can do some trouble shooting with you.

Builders Single-Handle Tub and Shower Faucet in Mediterranean Bronze is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Water Pressure extremely low I had no idea when I purchased this that my water pressure would decrees by 50%. Had I know that before hand I would not have purchased it. Granted it is beautiful, but I did not know it controls hot to cold mixture. Ofcourse I did not realize this until I paid to have it installed. If you're looking for these features go for it. So you're not looking to reduce you're water pressure read product information carefully.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Economical Nice shower head and faucet. But as most bath tubs shower packages best for new construction as the existing plumbing probably won't match. If only a couple of the parts are need may be cheaper to use this rather than purchasing them separately. The shower head and faucet should fit, but the handle and shroud may be a challenge or not fit at all. Great looking finish

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Tub/Shower Faucet combination This tub/shower faucet becomes part of our guest bathroom where we have already installed a Hampton Bay vanity/mirror with granite top. We have installed this dark finish hardware on the vanity and included the towel bar, towel ring, toilet paper holder and vanity towel stand to match. While it seem this dark finish is becoming harder to find, it certainly fits well in this bathroom using russets and oranges of a southwestern sunset. Having the single handle mounted between tub and shower height sure beats standing on my head to turn off the old two handles down at tub level. No more soaked hair on days when shampoo was not part of the event!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Difficult Install Installing this is easy if plumbing a new shower. If you are replacing an older valve then you are in for some work. It is a different size than the one that was being replaced so some additional plumbing work needed to be done to get the pipes lined up. The handle seems to be a little loose even after tightening the set screw, but I do not think anyone will notice except me. Once it was installed it works fine & looks great! It has 3 water flow patterns so if you are a picky person with your shower patterns, you may want to choose another shower head. The water pressure is very good & does not pose any problems.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Suprisingly complete This set really surprised me by how complete it is! It actually comes with the diverter. The valve, the tub spout, the shower head, etc. Short of coming with the actual wrenches and Teflon tape, it comes with everything that you need for a new installation. This might not be the best set if you are just trying to spruce up the look of your bathroom, but is definitely a complete purchase for new construction.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Goes in well This is a good value option for revamping your existing shower with new hardware. The faucet is inexpensive, but it does go in easy enough and has some nice installation features that make it really simple to do. I happen to be completely remodeling my shower at the moment, so I’ve pulled all the existing backer board off. That is the recommended way to install this. Be careful when you go to solder the new connections into the unit. There are plastic parts in the valve assembly and you don’t want to overheat the valve body and melt anything. The unit ships with an installation template that you can use to space the installation depth of the valve. I just used a standard box level to gauge the new wall thickness with backer board, sealant, thinset and tile. Line this up against the thickness of the template as you can see in my photos and you should be in good shape. Make sure when you cut your backer board, you leave space to adjust both the hot and cold sides of the valve. You’ll need to either widen the hole for the faucet valve or do like I did and cut a couple of smaller ones next to it. The trim pieces are really nice as well and good looking. They are mostly metal and appear to be reasonable quality. Again, this is a great value option.
