Does this sink come in a heavier gague like 16g?

I have found this sink locally and they say it is 18g, but you show 20g. Does it come in 16g? That would be ideal for me.
Asked by: Linda
I saw 20 gauge when I bought mine, and was concerned that it would be loud. I was surprised that it was quieter than my old sink! There is a nice amount of insulation sprayed on the back. This sink is quiet even when using my 1 HP disposal! My husband has a metallurgy degree, is an engineer, and said that 16 gauge was way heavier than necessary for us.

How flat are the edges when this sink is top mounted?

The edges look fairly flat, but I haven't seen comments either way and wanted to make sure. I'm looking for a fairly unobtrusive, flat/thin/smooth edge, not a boxy or bulky edge that will make it hard to wipe water or crumbs into the sink. The sink will be top mounted on a laminate countertop. Thank you.
Asked by: TheKitcheneers
The rim around the outer edge is about a mm thick. Not tapered at all like our old sink that had a slope up and back down - so when you run your hand up to it on the countertop, it stops. Ours is also mounted on laminate/formica. Once we got the clips attached and it was securely in place, it was nice looking. I think it has to be a certain thickness for it to hold the weight of the sink and things we put in it. Very sleek looking sink, though. Here's a pic that I zoomed in on - might help?

I've heard that 18 gauge is better for noise control. How is the noise on this one with a garbage disposal?

Asked by: ldsings
There are sound pads on the sink. You can hear the garbage disposal but it's not amplified by the sink. We have a std badger and it's not too loud - almost muffled. btw the fourth hole is a great spot for an air-gap disposal switch.

Does Glacier Bay sell a matching basin rack for this sink?

Need a basin rack to protect the sink from scratches. It's hard to find one that match pefectly.
Asked by: diyguy
No, but Kraus has one that looks like it will fit. Make sure that you get the 33 inch wide one, not the 30 inch one.

does this fit in a standard depth sink cabinet: 24" deep by 36" wide?

does this fit in a standard depth sink cabinet: 24" deep by 36" wide?
Asked by: remodeler
Yes. It might fit without trimming but it was our first sink install. It's so wide we had to cut into the top corner braces a little so it would fit. We just reinforced it elsewhere and it was fine. It does leave you with just a little room front to back so you'll want to check that it fits within the depth you have once you take your backsplash measurement off the back.

I call it my industrial farmhouse sink. It does scratch (but its common sense that it will), so I ordered a grate for the bottom at the same time I ordered the sink. Looks perfect and helps it stay cleaner. Love it! All the accessories that come with it just make it even more unique!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from The veggie sink Scratched easily, can't find sink mat big enough for single bowl to protect it. It's great for doing lots of veggies with the extra sink and colander. I have taken the extra sink out and stored it and left the colander in. I don't think I would buy a single bowl again due to having to clean the whole thing every time. With two bowls you make a mess on one side only. Overall if you are a gardener with fruits and veggies to clean up for canning, than this is the sink for you.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful, sleek, but not perfect After installing our sink a few weeks ago, we have realized that although we love the way it looks and functions, there are a couple of design flaws. The colander basket doesn't properly nest into the small basin, it rests about 1/2" on top. And our waste king disposal flange indeed does keep particles like rice and cat food from draining properly down the "vanishing edge" drain. Nothing we could do to the flange fixed it, so we are looking at buying a new disposal to replace this almost new one we have. Despite those things, we really like this sink! Really makes our kitchen look updated and the quality looks much more expensive than it really was.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Sink I replaced our top mount double basin sink with this single basin sink and workstation. My wife and I could not be happier with the result. The sink mounted perfectly without enlarging the hole. The sink is spacious, deep and beautiful. The colander, cutting board and drop in second sink are great and fulfill all of our kitchen sink needs. The only thing missing was a sink grid so I purchased a Kraus KBG-200-33 Stainless Steel Bottom Grid. I installed the sink with a Kohler Cruette faucet. This is the most functional sink & faucet combination we have ever had. We will never go back to a double sink again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a big sink I recently had this sink installed. It is huge, nice huge, but huge. The depth keeps water from splashing out and the stack on cutting board is an excellent idea. With the additional "little sink" that fits inside the huge sink, I can wash veggies or soak smaller items. All my friends are envious. It's very sturdy and beautiful to look at. Such a nice addition to my little kitchen.

A wonderful value for the price and no regrets. Had a great time saying goodbye to our double bowl sink that was so confining when washing large items. Couldn't be happier!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from A couple big flaws This sink is 100x better than my old sink so I still love it. It's HUGE, deep, and looks fantastic. A couple things to be cognizant of: - the drain is at the rear of the sink. Unless you are lucky you are going to have to move pipes. With the disposer installed it hit our pipe coming out of the wall. Lots of curse words, sawing, and some new PVC and I got it to work. - the sink clips are worthless. I have very skinny hands and very long fingers and they were nearly impossible to install. After an hour or so I got 8 of the 10 on and felt accomplished. My husband laughed that he never would've gotten any of them on. I'm a mechanical engineer and tried to rig up various different "tools" to help without success. They were just too flimsy and the space between the cabinet and sink was too tight. - my biggest issue with this sink is that the bottom is too flat. Water drains down ok, but any sort of food particle not so much. You have to take your sprayer and "chase" the food down the drain or simply use your hand. The install stuff is annoying but once it's done it's done. The bottom being too flat is continually annoying but I still enjoy it because my old sink was awful. I don't think I would recommend this sink to anyone, though.
