Concerning the drain piece, I would like to know what types of cleaners, etc. to use or not use. What is going to 'turn' the finish or not?

Answer:
Do not use calcium, lime, or rust removal products. I used Kaboom and it took the finish off of my drain piece. I should've researched more before attempting.

With this product it erodes whether you use cleaner or no cleaner ever! I just used warm water and it still eroded.

Answer:
Thank you for your question. The best product to use on that finish is a mild hand or dish soap and water or a 2 part water to 1 part vinagar solution. Any type of harsh or abrasive cleaner is not recommended for those types of finishes.

Hello Virginia,
Whenever you need to remove a part from a faucet with pliers you should protect it with either a cloth or I prefer using a thick rubber piece. ie: thick rubber band or a piece of a flat rubber tie down.

Like I said before I normally use a piece of an old rubber tie down. They are like 1/4" thick and plenty long enough to go all the way around the part.

Estates 4 in. Centerset 2-Handle Low-Arc Bathroom Faucet in Heritage Bronze is rated 2.8 out of 5 by 29.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money! This faucet looked great out of the box, but didn't stay looking good! After a few months of use the finish bubbled up & came off! Took 3-4 phone calls to finally get through to someone who would claim to have manufactured the faucet only to find out they don't back up there product! I have not jumped through the hoops: sending pictures, letter, receipt copies so they could "review" my warranty claim. I have mostly Kohler in my house & they back their product with a simple very friendly phone call & either send the parts or in some cases a whole new product at no cost to the consumer. I will definitely stick with them for future needs!!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Product I think this faucet is a great product, and has a great look to it. I love the bronze finish. I have had this faucet for 5 years now without any major problems. But I do have one problem with the faucet. The green discoloration that is forming at the base of the faucet. I did some research on bronze and found that the green film/discoloration is called patina. Is this true for this product? If so, how do I cleaning products should I use to clean the faucet appropriately? And how do I remove the green color? Please see the picture below to help assess my situation. I cannot find information on the internet on how to clean this faucet by pegasus. Any manufactuer recommendations? Thanks!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from The finish on the base peels off when cleaned. Do not buy this faucet. It was easy to install except the sink drain was a little difficult. But after a few months the base plate finish started to erode after cleaning with a litlle tilex. Now after two years of use the base has eroded so much that the faucet must be replaced. Looking for a solid bronze base faucet to replace it, or thinking of coating a new faucet with polyethyiene to protect the base plate finish..........which should not be necessary. It is functionally AOK, the handles and spout have not eroded and water flow is normal.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Beautiful but cheap quality metal I purchased this BEAUTIFUL faucet bit about 2 weeks into using it the finishing started to chip off and the patches turned green. I tried many gentle cleaner without success and the green still there and the finishing keeps peeling off. Now it looks awful with those green patches and it is only a few month old. Not worth the $90.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worthless I have installed several faucets before, and this one by far is the worst piece of junk ever. After spending over an hour removing the old faucet and installing the new one at my parents I ended up having to take the faucet back out to return. The design of the drain pipe was horrible. After installing it I ran water only to find out that it was leaking. I checked several times, read through the installation instructions, and even had a plumbing specialist walk me through how to install it in the store, and it was definitely installed properly. Home Depot took it back as defective, and they were also kind enough to price match a more expensive faucet for me for my troubles. This was my first experience with the Pegasus brand, and it will be my last.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pegasus faucet Do not buy this faucet unless you want to take the time to replace it in a couple years. After about a year and a half the base began to corode and bubble. After 2 years the corrosion had spread to most of the base and I had to replace it. Spend the extra money on a solid faucet (like Moen) not one that is zinc with a finish

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed The finish has rubbed off on the spout and it has been turning green at the base.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Pegasus 666068 bathroom faucet Beware. Do not use bathroom cleaner to clean and disinfect this bathroom faucet (are you kidding me!) I've had these (2) in the master bath for 2 years and like the other person writing a review the finish is coming off. The store manager offered to issue me a credit but I'd never buy this brand again. THE FINISH IS NOT WARRANTED!
