Customer Questions & Answers

How can I remove hard water stains from the vanity basin?

Can I use vinegar, or some other non bleach, non ammonia, non solvent based cleaner? I am assuming something like rinse for dishwashers in too much, how about stuff used to descale coffee pots? Hard water is an ongoing problem for Californian's unless they put in a water softener.
Asked by: TD
TD, Thank you for your inquiry. Our best recommendation would be for you to use a 50/50 water and vinegar mixture and let it dry for roughly 30 minutes before washing the mixture off with a clean, damp, non-abrasive sponge or cloth. Please do not use anything that may contain chlorine, acetone, alcohol, ammonia, or bleach as that will cause damage to the finish. Best Regards.

Will this top fit as a replacement for the St. Paul Ashland Vanity top?

Love the St. Paul Ashland look - but need a white top to make it work. St. Paul Ashland link (from HD) is below. Thanks!
Asked by: JF
JF, Thank you for your inquiry. We would not recommend that you replacement the Ashland vanity top with the 37 in. Newport vanity top in Solid White as the Ashland vanity is 19 in. deep and the Newport 37 in. vanity top has a depth of 22 inches. Best Regards,

Have a problem with discoloration in basin. What is your suggestion to get rid-off it. Thank you

Asked by: Duma
Duma, Thank you for your inquiry. For cleaning your vanity top, our best recommendation would be to use a standard glass cleaner. Please ensure that any product you do use on your vanity top does not contain any ammonia, bleach, or chlorine as those solvents may damage your finish. We would also suggest that you avoid any abrasive materials to prevent any type of minor or major scratching. Please keep in mind that your discoloration may also qualify for a warranty issue. If you feel that what you are experiencing is due to a defect in the material or workmanship, feels feel free to contact our Customer Service team to file a warranty claim via telephone or e-mail. Our Customer Service team's phone number is 1-800-235-7747 and they are open from 8 AM CST to 5 PM CST; their e-mail address is Best Regards,

This product seems to scratch easily. Can this product be refinished, scratches buffed out, any suggestions?

Asked by: Nickie
Nickie, Thank you for your inquiry. If the scratches on your vanity top are fine, and not very deep, there may be a way to save the finish. What you may be able to use is a gel-gloss cleaner to protect and polish the surface. Home Depot does sell an aerosol version which you may be able to look up by logging onto the Home Depot website and searching for Model # GA-12, Internet # 100559227, or Store SKU # 836206. Another option would be to take a very fine sandpaper (roughly 1000 to 2000 grit) to even out the area. After the scratches have been sanded down, you may be able to use a buffer to restore the gloss. Please keep in mind, however, that this is not an easy task and may void your warranty. Best Regards,

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good quality at the right price. I needed a 34.5" sink vanity top to fit between two existing side walls. Since I couldn't find that deminsion I bought the 37" Newport composite vanity top and cut 1 1/2" from both sides using a masonary blade. It cut nice but chipped easily as I forced it between the existing corner beaded walls. I used Azec exterior grade plastic facia (3/4"X5") to create side splashes. One side is smooth and the other is wood grained. The Azec sands like wood and copes easily. I used the cutoff pieces as templates on the Azec and cut with a coping saw. The job came out beautiful.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from No Overflow drain I just installed two of these sinks in my downstairs bathrooms. They looked great and installed easily. When I got the last one installed, I had a few issues with trap leaks. After I got those fixed, I decided I better fill the sink and check for leaks again. that's when I realized that there are NO OVERFLOW drains built into the sink. In other words, if you fill the sink when it is stoppered, and walk away for a minute, when you come back, you are going to have a flooded bathroom. Absolutely amazing that HD would sell a product without this essential safeguard.
