I bought two of these and the inside of the bowl is rough and not smooth. I can tell when the kitties have been in the sink playing because I see their dirty footprints. Is there some type of wash or rinse I need to do to have it smooth so nothing sticks?
Asked by: BQ
Thank you for your question. Vitreous China is not typically perfectly smooth. However, it should not have a rough feel to it. A glass protector type product can be sprayed on the sink regularly to minimize dirt and grime sticking to the sink. However, this will not totally stop any dirt from appearing on the sink. I hope you find this information helpful. Sincerely, Foremost Groups Customer Service

Is there a template inside the box ?

If I make my own top, the recommended cutout is 17 1/4 x 14. I suppose I could trace the sink itself ?
Asked by: USA
Yes, this comes with a template.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice, regardless of price This is a very nice sink bowl, regardless of price. Top surface is flawless, glossy white. And even the backside (which is not finished) gives the impression of quality. Compared to the next most expensive sink Home Depot carries in stock -- which costs almost twice as much -- this one is actually nicer. Went looking for two replacement sink bowls for our master-bathroom vanity. The existing ones were porcelain over iron and had rusted badly on the underside to the point that the drainpipe on one actually came off in my hand while removing the bowl. Didn't want to spend too much because the room needs to be remodeled, but we're not ready to do that at this time. Since I was replacing an existing sink I was limited to a size that fit the existing holes in the vanity top. Turns out it I needed a fairly common 17 x 14 inch oval sink bowl. As mentioned, I initially leaned toward the Kohler sink in the same size for $70-something. But the local store only had one of those and had two of the Glacier Bay's. I opened one of the Glacier Bay boxes in the store (there wasn't one on display) to find it was nicer than the Kohler and only cost $40. I'd never installed a sink bowl, but it wasn't difficult. If you're at all handy and have some familiarity with standard house plumbing you should not have a problem. I could see how the existing sinks were mounted and made use of the threaded inserts already in the counter top along with the sheet metal clips found in the Glacier Bay box and intended for this purpose (appears to be the way all undermount sinks are attached). Mounting to a new countertop could involve much more work, BTW, including using a diamond-tipped drill and epoxy to sink the threaded inserts into the top. But as a retrofit I was able to skip that step. Got very lucky that the drain holes lined up with the existing traps, so there was no need to replace the drain plumbing, which looked fine. All I needed were new drains installed in the sink (got some metal Everbuilt ones, also from HD, for $27). Anyway, very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sinks. Would absolutely recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very nice under-mount Vanity sinks This is a very attractive basic under-mount Vanity sink. The finish is great and the overflow hole is nicely finished as well, not rough looking as some are. My granite installer attached the sink under the granite without problem, My plumber had no issue in connecting the sink with faucet and pop-up, and sink is very attractive when installed. The price is also very appealing.
