If you are considering this shower rod, it is for the same reason I chose it. The dual rod is a great concept, liner on the inside and the nice shower curtain on the outside; and the first couple months it was great, but there must be another brand that performs better than this does.
First, the expandable nature of this means that the rod is two different sizes, which would be okay if the plastic 'transition' was not so cheaply made that the curtain rings didn't catch every stinking time you need to close the curtain. Making matters worse is that the rings I chose have the "roller" construction, little wheel thingy that are supposed to allow the rings to roll over the rod instead of slide -they still caught on the transition. Its like a skateboard catching on pebbles.
The material of the rods is also a cheap quality steel. At the price point of this curtain rod, I expected something better, if only slightly? I have been lackadaisical about removing this and have this installed for ~2 years, and the rust is beyond belief. My 93' Exploder rusted more graciously through 20 years of winter salt...
Last, the inner rod is not welded to the end brackets as is the outer rod; it is held in place by ill-fitting sheet metal screws
DO YOURSELF a favor, find a nice stainless steel shower curtain rod and pay the extra cost.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by billh2 This product is not Rust Proof
One year ago, I installed this shower curtain rod. Right now I am in the rental unit where the shower curtain rod is installed and it is rusty. This was not an easy install. I had to drill into the tile surrounding the bath/shower. Replacing this shower curtain rod will not be easy either. I wish now that I had spent the extra $50 (perhaps at some bath fixture retailer other than Home Depot) for a shower curtain rod that is actually rust proof. Do not buy this product.
On top of that, the product is flimsy. In several places, the screws will not tighten. So, after one year of use, it is loose, as well as rusty.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Thomas Piece of junk - more value as scrap metal
Metal screws that were over tightened in the factory which make the whole thing wobble, poor fit of pieces,
I will return it and get something that is worth the money - this one is garbage.

Be sure you have enough room outside your tub so that the outside curtain doesnt hang on top of your toilet.
There were several pre-installed screws that needed to be tightened at the end of installation that were stripped and actually fell out during installation.

A very good experience from initial ordering through the installation! Free and fast shipping was a real plus. The brushed nickel finish looks great, and did not cost a premium over polished chrome or brushed chrome.
The installation was made in my basement to mount light-blocking curtains in a home theater. The double rods are a tremendous atvantage because they natually overlap rather than abutt each other. That can leave a void for light to poliute the space.
The install took less than an hour once the aluminum tape wrap was applied.
