We bought this on a whim at The Home Depot since it was at the counter when we bought most expensive "Marquee" brand of paint for our bathroom. The lavender & vanilla scent is pretty nice, but not worth the way it ruins paint. As soon as my painter started putting the paint on the walls & ceiling, he alerted me to all these little lumps. At first we thought it was from plaster dust, but nope - it was the Glade paint additive. Now we have to wait for the paint to dry, sand out all the lumps and start over with another new and expensive gallon of paint. If you're lucky enough to see this before you buy, save your time and money. Hopefully The Home Depot will see the other similar reviews and stop stocking this until Glade works out the kinks - or rather, lumps - in their product.

I have typically added 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract to a gallon of paint to neutralize the odor. The woman at Home Depot thought I would really love the smell of the Glade lavender vanilla scent, so I purchased it and added it in lieu of the vanilla. It smells HORRIBLE!!!!! I have repainted my walls two times to get rid of the fake/artificial lavender scent and can't get rid of the smell. I painted one room in my house and now my entire home smells like a Glade bomb exploded in my home. Ugh. I wish I could go back in time. Do not buy his product if you like essential oil smells and dislike fake scents!

Surprised ratings aren't higher. I've got a keen sense of smell, and was worried the additive would be overbearing. Nothing could be further from the truth. The lavender and vanilla helps create a relaxing environment. It's a little stronger now, but will dissipate over the next few weeks/months.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Upsdrvr Get the same effect w/ no change to your paint
4 easy steps:
1) Go to Home Depot
2) Take $5 from your pocket
3) Throw said $5 in the parking lot
4) Go buy your paint as normal and paint the walls
Added this to a gallon of Behr Ultra Semi, I didn't detect any fragrance at all.
I didn't have any paint clumps as reported by others, but as someone else said, it seems to float on the paint. Stir it VERY well and stir the paint each time you refill your roller pan or paint bucket.

I just finished painting and haven't seen any effects on the paint like other reviews and hope I don't - I like the smell it's better than paint smell while you are painting. However, it only seems to last while you are painting. After the paint dries you can't smell any fragrance in the room you have to stick your nose close to the wall to smell anything. Also, after its added to the paint it seems to float like oil on top. I was constantly mixing. As a result only the wall that got the most fragrance that floated on top smells nice. The other walls hardly have the fragrance smell at all. I might buy it again just to have a nice fragrance to smell while painting.

I thought it would be nice to have the fragrance in paint. After adding it and giving it a good stir, I started to paint. Within 20 minutes I started noticing lumps in the paint and on my roller. Now I have to go back and sand the wall in spots and buy new paint.

Makes the paint clumpy so your wall has chunks of paint when you roll it on. Would not recommend.

This is the most soft and heavenly fragrance. I love the wax melts best. They give a continual soft and subtle fragrance throughout the house.
