Mounting to Cinder Block in Garage

Can these white screws be used for bare Masonry (Cinder block) walls? If not, what type screws must be used?
Asked by: Tony
Thank you for your interest in the Gladiator Garageworks products. The white screws are to be use on wood studs. For bare masonry cinder block walls, masonry screws or tapcons must be used.

2 in. White Screws for Garage Wall Shelving GearTrack Channels and GearWall Panels is rated 2.4 out of 5 by 11.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible Screws These screws are terrible for driving into studs. They will struggle to go in and will strip once they give up and your power driver does not. Chinese Junk. I had a box of drywall screws laying around, and they went through both the track and wall stud like butter. I really wanted white screws and what I got was junk stripped with the paint stripped out as well. I HIGHLY advise that you avoid these screws like the plague. Get a 2$ box of the nice black drywall screws and a tiny bottle of white paint (touch-up or some other source) and paint the screw heads once installed. You'll thank me later.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good with no stripping These worked great. I pre-drilled the holes to make installation easier for me since I did everything myself. I would recommend doing this extra step as it seems many people had issues with the screws stripping otherwise. I put up 3 boxes of these with zero stripping problems. The paint did chip off a bit (Not that noticeable) and I may get some touch up paint, but overall they look and function as expected. Downside is that they are a little expensive for screws.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Use a 1/4 impact driver, makes a huge difference I just installed an entire wall of gladiator 8' wall panels this past weekend. I installed well over 200 screws without a single one stripping out. I predrilled and used a 1/4 hex impact driver, made a world of difference. Using only a drill with a Phillips bit does not work well at all. Out of the hundreds of these screws I have installed in the past two years in my basement, shed and now garage only one package had half of the screw heads filled in with paint.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst screw ever. I bought 30 packages of these screws to install the 8' gear wall sections. The screws are poor quality. I had at least 30% of the screws that stripped out the head even when predrilling. Some of the screws where bent in manufacturing which did not help in installation. Do your self a favor and buy some Torx head screws.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible screws (will strip, pain come off) Don't waist your money on these. Very poor quality

Rated 1 out of 5 by from near impossible to use They shouldn't have painted the screw heads or used Phillips head.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great matching for gladiator gear tracks....... had no problems installing gear tracks with these matching screws, drilled in nice and flush.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the Quality of Other Gladiator Products I experienced the same problems as the previous reviewer. I ended up buying higher quality screws at a local home improvement store, and replacing the color-matched screws where visible to assure a consistent appearance.
