The casters don't line up with the holes, the bolts are too short... how did you fix these problems?

For those who bought the casters... how did you install the casters since some of the holes don't line up and the bolts are a bit too short? I suppose I can buy longer bolts, but I shouldn't have to. Did you just skip the holes that don't line up or did you drill new ones?

I know that the locking casters go on the front, but those back ones are not installing as they should.

This is very disappointing.

Thanks,
Sharon

Answer:
This should be adequate. Bear in mind to distribute the weight, don't overload the top surface without some weight in the bottom. Don't put all of the weight in one place.
300 pounds is quite a bit of weight. Consider that three bags of cement are just under 300 pounds.

Hi MLScolo, the weight limit is the safe working load limit. If you think you're going to put 300 pounds in the steel cabinet, you might consider stronger casters.
Here is a set that has a 600 pound capacity.

Rated 3.8 out of 5 by 24 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by It does the job One of the wheel locks would not work. A hammer and good squirt of WD-40 loosened it. August 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Solid Product The casters are Heavy Duty and were easy to install. The instructions were clear and concise. August 16, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Gladiator caster kit I returned them. My cabinet does not have holes for the casters. I have a threaded insert. I only saw the casters that required four hoes for each caster. The Web site should help with the selection of options for the individual cabinets. August 3, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Best casters for Gladiator cabinet I have the Gladiator Steel Modular Gearbox Cabinet and want to add the casters. Luckily I found out that the recommended casters (GACK04KDSX) would not fit the cabinet. However, I found the Home Depot casters, SKU 225374, that screw into the same place as the legs provided with the cabinet. The casters are the Everbilt Medium Duty Threaded Stem Caster with Brake 3". They only cost $6.97 ea. and work perfectly. July 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by We're rolling Now! These casters add mobility to work space and that's an added plus! I can keep on the move and have a cabinet with storage right there with every step. I also read someone had a problem with mounting them. I can see where that came from. Here's my take on it. The front casters the ones with locking to prevent from rolling can only be mounted in the front. The holes line up perfectly and if you reverse them putting the front one in the back than they most likely will not line up. The other thing i did notice is if you garage floor is not some type of rubber than the caster will slide easily. Also I wanted to be sure what I read about the problem experienced was the truth before buying 2 sets. Now that I know it isn't I just purchase another set. Other than that this is another great Gladiator product. I just wished I would have bought two set. February 11, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Please fix web site they work as explained these are directional wheels so installation is interesting to install on the correct location. April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Heavy Duty Caster Kit As one might imagine, this heavy duty caster kit was easy to attach to the bottom of Gladiator rolling storage and tool cabinets. They appear to be more than enough to handle the weight of the heavy Gladiator units and the casters roll and lock in place easily. April 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sturdy Great product that provided everything I needed. Wheels roll smoothly across any surface. January 5, 2016
