I see Gladiator has reduced the price on the hardwood top but not the maple. Has anything in the design changed or is this just a price drop?

Answer:
I wasn't necessarily talking about just turning it around, but actually keeping the frame in its normal orientation (stringer piece against the back wall still) and installing the tabletop reversed, with the overhang on the back instead of the front. As long as the holes are the same on left and right, I would imagine this is possible, but it depends on how the pilot holes are drilled.

Answer:
Hello,
Possible, but may not be convenient. The stringer panel attaches to the very back of the bench and the outer legs so if reversed the stringer panel would have to be in the front if added for stability.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 240 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gladiator Garage The items are great- we bought a number of the red gladiator series items and redid the entire garage. They hold a lot and look wonderful - We can now pull two cars into the garage, something we haven't been enable to do in years. The workbench is heavy and solid and has a nice work area, and it looks great! July 12, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Look For A Better Alternative To This Workbench This workbench was fine for 3 months. I put it together in my 20' x 14' shed 3 months ago. Nothing had been placed on it since we were moving and it was never used. After the 3rd month, a glue line failure occurred at the first glue line of the butcher block top in the front. It is 3 inches long now and goes all the way through the joint. I did contact the company and they did agree to replace the entire workbench. This is all good except I don't need a whole workbench and I do not want to assemble this again. There is not enough room now to lay the box flat and re-assemble a whole workbench. They would not just replace the top. They said they didn't make the top separate. This isn't true. I know they could just send a replacement top if they wanted. They wanted to send a semi-trailer truck down my street, haul out the old bench and then haul in a new, unassembled, workbench into my shed for me to re-assemble. If you get this workbench, you will see what I mean. It is very heavy and a little tedious to put together. The plastic wing nuts used to secure the legs took pliers to turn onto the bolts they were such a tight fit. Great customer service but poor remedy to their failures. June 1, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Base A+ Top D- The base on this is excellent, built like a tank. However the maple top is junk. Lots of big cracks and knots, some they tried to fill with some sort of epoxy, others they left as gaping holes and splits. I ordered and returned TWO of these, both had tops that were in the same poor condition. Home Depot customer service was awesome, but honestly I could have done a better job in my high school wood shop class July 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Product ALL THE WAY I got the 6ft Bamboo option and this product is just amazing, the material, construction and the finish if just great. Frame is really really very solid. The space between the legs is about 58in and I needed min 60in to fit these two Husky cabinets 30in W and 36in H and they fit perfectly now. Adjustable height is a great feature. Bamboo finish is just awesome and it happened to be the cheapest option as well as a bonus. January 30, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Spend the extra money on this Somebody once told me "spend just. Little bit more, you'll be that much happier you did." This is such a nice bench. Quality all the way around. Sturdy, level, so easy to put together, all the drill holes line up. Adjustable height. Looks great. So worth it. Very happy. June 21, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Attractive and Rock Solid This is a satisfyingly solid bench. It's attractive and adjustable height (sitting keyboard height to standing height). Assembly is straight forward. The top is thick, solid wood. The legs are thick steel with a good looking black finish. The legs have wide, sturdy adjustable feet for leveling. The feet have plastic bottoms so this bench can be used indoors without damaging floors. I bought one for an office desk/workbench. The solid wood top allowed me to bolt on a keyboard drawer. You can probably have a couple of adults dancing on top with ease. You can slide a rolling file cabinet under it to one side if you want. This workbench looks better than most office desks in the same price range. It's not a cheap bench but I felt it was a good value. This thing will last a lifetime. I'm going to buy another one for the garage. Note: The height adjustment is set with 8 bolts so it takes major effort to adjust. It is not meant to be adjusted frequently. January 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product Overall Directions were easy to understand and follow. About an hour to assemble. I ordered the maple top and it is very nice. Table sturdy and looks great. I gave it 5 stars for all that, and when I purchased it Home Depot had it on sale with $139.00 off which made it a great buy. The only improvement and a very important one is the shipping. The table was on time the delivery guy brought it right to my garage and was very friendly and helpful. The packaging not up to par at all. Box was shredded and pieces of card board hanging off of the box. One small ding in a corner but not anything to worry about. They need to figure out some better packaging. But overall a 5 star rating and great buy. May 10, 2016
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Missing Hardware The workbench is very well made and sturdy, but all of the hardware was missing. I had to call Home Depot to have it shipped to me which made putting it together take more than a week. Once it was together it was a very nice product. Quality control is a continuing problem with many companies. June 8, 2016
