Answer:
Technically, yes. However, using a primer with a little more enamel in it will reduce flashing, and give a truer sheen. If you use the Gripper, you will be less likely to have problems and more likely to be satisfied with the finished product.

Answer:
Yes, we used it with our Graco with a 0.015 tip with great results and no need to sand afterwards for a super smooth finish of the top coat.

1 gal. Latex Drywall Interior Primer is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 27.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hides it all The product was easy to spread and covered my drywall with one coat. But, I gave it a second coat to make it perfect. The price was right and it looked professional [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Horrible odor and minimal priming Will not use again. Buy zinsser problem sealer for drywall, virtually odorless and excellent seal, then use normal paint/primer and no issues. Had to close the can after five minutes such an odor

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Smart choice. Can't beat the price for results! I read a few reviews online before buying primer for A TON of new drywall we needed to cover. I probably would've just bought the Behr primer because the brand has such a great reputation. However, reviews told me to steer clear & save my money because the less expensive Glidden worked best. They were right!! The Glidden was only about $34 for 5 GALLONS & the coverage was excellent. Let it dry completely before making any snap judgments... it looks kinda scary as its drying! LOL. But after only one coat, it looks great. I've never reviewed a product b4, but I figured I should pass along this great money-saving option. I highly recommend trying this one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Patience Goes on smooth as butter but you will get scared when it starts to dry. I was headed to get a rag and bucket of water after about 5 minutes. When this product is drying, it develops a texture about midway through the process. Give it 30 minutes and it smooths back out. I used it over a partially skim coated wall to even out before painting. The wall turned out perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fine for the money Used this today to prime OSB wallboard in my boy's 12' X 14' playhouse I am building. I used the Kilz latex primer recently and I could not tell the difference between this Glidden and the Kilz, and the Glidden was half the price. I used 1.5 gallons on about 500 SF. It dried fast. It does not completely cover by itself but when I put one heavy coat of latex paint over it it covered everything, including the printing on the OSB. It served its purpose well and I would highly recommend this product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great when used properly For all of those bad reviewers: use the right tool for the right job. This is one of the best new drywall primers on the market and has been for years and years. This product was meant to seal off new drywall and and textures, not cover stains and such. When this is used as a sealer it will stop the next coat of paint from soaking into the drywall or mud. I would suggest researching this product more in depth if you don't believe me.
