After years of using Behr paint I recently tried Glidden Duo, all I can say is WOW!!!!!! What a difference, must easier to use, better coverage with less splatter. It's basically as good as Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams at a 1/3 of the cost. I'm a Glidden fan for sure now and will continue to use it on all my jobs.

My mother and I both paint quite a bit around our houses. We tend to repaint at least one room in our interiors every three to four months. We have ALWAYS used glidden pain with primer. About a year ago we managed to cover the contractor beige walls in her living room (which is on the large size of average with vaulted ceilings) with two gallons of paint and one coat. This past week my mother bought two cans of glidden duo advanced hide and coverage to paint over the semi-gloss (glidden) in her kitchen. I also purchased a quart of Glidden to paint some (sanded) wooden picture frames. The paint does okay with a roller, but is terrible for cutting in and trimming! I noticed when I was brushing it on my frames that if you used more than one brush stroke to smooth the paint and spread it, it would actually remove the paint you were trying to spread (like painting over paint that is just slightly dry on the surface would do). I thought it was just the picture frames. Until I started helping my mom paint her kitchen and realized that you cant use a brush to trim or cut in the edges on the walls because the same thing happens! The roller spread a little better, but it didn't caver near as well as previous times we have used the paint. It will take three total coats to paint the kitchen that two only two coats about a year and a half ago. I have always been a loyal glidden customer (I even bought a paint sprayer so I could use glidden paint on projects opposed to spray paint), but I believe my next project I will try the competitor. Glidden used to do very well as evening itself out to hide brush and roller strokes, but this formula seems to make them worse. Despite the paint being thick like I have known glidden paint to be, this just doesnt seem at all like the glidden paint we know. The paint even gathers and pools in some areas (covering previous glidden semigloss with glidden semigloss), and this is even worse when using a brush.

My husband and I purchased this paint for the baby room. It is the thinnest paint I have seen in my life. We used 3/4 of a can for ONE 13' foot wall. It STILL looks horrid. You can see every swipe of the roller and see the old wall color which was a very light color. I would never get this brand again and likely will be getting another brand to cover up this mess.

I have used Glidden paints for years and have had good success with the products. Recently I purchased a gallon of Duo Semi Gloss and Primer. It was for a project - cabinet doors that I had recently made.
I have to say that this paint is the worst paint I have ever used. It is so bad that it actually ruined my doors and after all the work making them, they were unusable. Today I put them in the trash, that’s how bad they turned out.
From the moment I began applying it I could tell this was poor quality paint. The only way I could get it to cover correctly was to roll it on. As soon as I would try to brush it out it was half dry and there were “skins” starting to build up on the surface. I even added Flotrol additive and there was no change. As I continued to struggle with this stuff I started noticing coagulated paint particles on the surface. The particles were coming from my brush because the paint was drying so fast it was coming off onto the surface. What a mess.
This paint is everything a paint should not be. And now the doors are in the trash and so is the Glidden Duo Paint. What a waste.
No more Glidden.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jbham Horrible! Paint peeled off in large sheets
I bought this because it had primer and was advertised to save a step. I actually bought a can of primer and returned it because this said it had primer in it. I painted the entire ceiling and trim with 3 COATS of white (on top of old white). Right as I was finished and cleaning up, I noticed a bubble or two and suddenly the entire thing was peeling up in large sheets of paint. NOTHING STUCK TO THE WALLS. It is completely false advertising to say this contains primer so you don't need to prime the walls first. Horrible product. I am returning it to Home Depot to get my money back.

This paint peeled (literally) off the wall in sheets. New construction. Used the glidden primer for new drywall that was suggested. This paint dried very fast. Added 2nd coat 24 hours after 1st coat. Because the coverage was spotty. Saw a small bump ( looked like lint) tried to scrape it away with my finger nail and ended up with it coming completely away from the drywall. ( I have video of this) .
This is not my 1st project. Renovation of rental property with another one scheduled for next year. I will not be using Glidden again.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by NomoreGlidden Worst paint we've ever used!
We're repainting the entire interior of our house. During the process, we have used several brands, and we picked the Glidden Duo for the living/dining rooms because of the colors we liked. We started with a small coat closet, have used more than a quarter of a gallon, and it looks horrid. We're talking a darker "Orange Tiger Lily" over white paint here, folks. The coverage is awful - even the little gray marks from hangers hitting the walls are bleeding through. When one coat from other brands have been enough to cover much worse in other rooms, this is unacceptable. We will be donating all the Duo paint we bought to Habitat for Humanity - with a warning to them about the poor quality of the product - and buying something else.
