Customer Questions & Answers

Is this specific paint water based?

I'm using this paint in an electric sprayer And I need to thin it a bit
Asked by: DeliaGreen
Hi there! Yes, this is water based. Our products are generally formulated for spray application and should not need thinned. If the product needs thinned a little further, you can add up to 8 oz of water per gallon of paint, and stir well.

how much paint do I need? Would I have to double coat it?

My walls that I'll be painting has an uneven color because it's dirty. I scrub it with clorox bleach, water, and dawn. Some areas are its original color, white. The square footage of the room is approximately 150 sq ft.

Does Home Depot sell have any Eggshell Interior Paint (low VOC) bases in it's stores? I've seen semi-gloss, but I work with flat or eggshell.

I want to buy my paint at Home Depot, but it MUST be low or (better) no VOC. I use a flat or eggshell finish for almost all of my projects and I can't seem to be able to find a low or no VOC eggshell BASE on the site (either light/medium or dark base). If you carry any brands with low or no VOC Eggshell Base (light/med and dark) that are available in-store, please let me know their names so I can pick up some color cards at my local Home Depot and buy the paint as quickly as possible. I NEED AN ANSWER BEFORE AUGUST 1ST.

1 gal. Eggshell Interior Paint is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 494.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from great stuff Just painted the entire interior of the house. We just moved in and wanted a clean slate. I like Glidden and have used it for years, I think it is the best on the cost/coat basis. Must believe it this is the third house I've used it in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful coverage - waste of time and money I have used glidden high endurance many times w no issues. I happen to be refinishing my kitchen and chose a glidden from the hardware store since they did not have what I usually get. Figured glidden hadn't done me wrong before, why not! I ended up getting Glidden premium for both my cabinets and walls. My cabinets were primed with three layers of primer, FIVE coats of glidden premium (which claims to be a primer and paint) later they were still not white. On the walls I was two coats in and clearly would need another two coats. Instead of buying more of this I went to Walmart and got my trusty high endurance and it's all coming out beautifully. This selection of glidden is garbage unfortunately. It took me three times as much time (thinking it was the stain not the cabinets) to do something that easily would have been avoided if product worked as promised. Wish I would have done the walls first to see the poor quality of this paint. I spent almost a week trying to figure out what was going wron and why my cabinets weren't coming out white. Would have saved cost wrong in primer too had I known. First disappointment with glidden but definitely a very big waste of time and money. The store refuses to refund because it wasn't them that chose the paint or manufactured it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Wouldn't give any stars but they made me. Not a good product by any means Tried painting off white trim with the flat white glidden when I tried to cover it the paint is so thin it looked like I was spilling milk on the wall. I'm extremely disappointed in the product because I spent twice as much on this paint hoping it would cover better than the cheap paint we had been using, boy was I wrong so I'm going back to the cheap paint

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Worst paint I bought this paint and even after I I had kilz'd my wall with primer.. three coats of this paint and you can still see light spots on wall. The coverage is horrible!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not a paint and primer One would expect a paint and primer to cover better. Covering a light blue with an orange. It was what was available for the color we wasted. I assumed they know what they were talking about and that it would cover. I still expected at least 2 coats. I've done three and it doesn't look like there's an end in sight. It's thin and drippy. Spend your money on something else. They need to stop labeling this as something with primer. I would take me 1 gallon to do 1 wall of a standard sized bedroom. I'm going to get a different brand and color because this is ridiculous.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gummy texture, no info on base Paint dries nice and thick but no matter how much stirring and shaking it goes on gummy and comes off if you go over wet area with roller a 2nd time. Going up and down in strips not V shape helps. But when dry the finish is nice n smooth. But yeah requires 2nd coat. Sort of pain to work with. Also no info on can about acrylic or oil or water base....and tips on roller type. Maybe I am using wrong roller? No idea. Color and finish fine, but be prepared thick means thick.
