Is this specific paint water based?

I'm using this paint in an electric sprayer And I need to thin it a bit
Asked by: DeliaGreen
Yes, you can wash it off your hands with water, so it is water based.

how much paint do I need? Would I have to double coat it?

My walls that I'll be painting has an uneven color because it's dirty. I scrub it with clorox bleach, water, and dawn. Some areas are its original color, white. The square footage of the room is approximately 150 sq ft.
Asked by: Flipping
Just to be clear, the square footage should be of the walls, not the area of the room. My square footage of the Walls is 520 square feet. I have used 1 3/4 of a gallon, and still have 1/5 of the walls to paint. Surprised that I couldn't do most of the room with just one gallon. Your room should be taken care of with one gallon.

Does Home Depot sell have any Eggshell Interior Paint (low VOC) bases in it's stores? I've seen semi-gloss, but I work with flat or eggshell.

I want to buy my paint at Home Depot, but it MUST be low or (better) no VOC. I use a flat or eggshell finish for almost all of my projects and I can't seem to be able to find a low or no VOC eggshell BASE on the site (either light/medium or dark base). If you carry any brands with low or no VOC Eggshell Base (light/med and dark) that are available in-store, please let me know their names so I can pick up some color cards at my local Home Depot and buy the paint as quickly as possible. I NEED AN ANSWER BEFORE AUGUST 1ST.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from great stuff Just painted the entire interior of the house. We just moved in and wanted a clean slate. I like Glidden and have used it for years, I think it is the best on the cost/coat basis. Must believe it this is the third house I've used it in.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Painted much of my Master Bedroom yesterday. Still have about 1/5 left to do. Area of walls is 5... Painted much of my Master Bedroom yesterday. Still have about 1/5 left to do. Area of walls is 520 square feet. However, I am VERY surprised that I have used almost 2 gallons to accomplish most of the room (have about 1/4 of the second can left). Yes, the house has not been painted since new (16 years), but I am using white paint over white paint. Still, one can is supposed to cover 400 square feet. Paint dries quickly and results are pretty good. I will try a different brand to see if coverage results are different. I really like this the "eggshell" type though, because you can wash it, with less of a chance of the paint showing imperfections in the walls.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Extremely Poor Coverage I will never use this paint every again. I painted my two kids rooms over the weekend with this product and it covers so poorly, that it left streaks throughout the rooms. You would never think I applied 2 coats and then a 3rd to try and fix all the issues. I am very handy, use very good rollers to apply and have a good technique so I know this is an issue with the paint's quality. I painted my other bedroom the week prior with a more expensive brand and not one streak or issue. Very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gummy texture, no info on base Paint dries nice and thick but no matter how much stirring and shaking it goes on gummy and comes off if you go over wet area with roller a 2nd time. Going up and down in strips not V shape helps. But when dry the finish is nice n smooth. But yeah requires 2nd coat. Sort of pain to work with. Also no info on can about acrylic or oil or water base....and tips on roller type. Maybe I am using wrong roller? No idea. Color and finish fine, but be prepared thick means thick.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One-Coat Coverage I have used Glidden interior paint in the past, and always found it to do a good job in covering over whatever needed to be painted. I do have to say that Glidden's names for its paints have changed over the years, and some of the comments I've read more recently weren't very good. When I moved into a new place that had light pink bedroom walls and a dining room-living room area that was painted light green, I knew I had a paint job to do! I decided to purchase Glidden's Premium Interior Paint + Primer in Flat and it did not disappoint at all. This paint was very easy to use, and it thoroughly covered the existing paint without needing a second coat. Perhaps a second coat might have given the walls a little deeper color (I used Swiss Coffee), but I was satisfied with the results. Cleanup was easy as well. I definitely would purchase this paint again.
