My walls were originally painted using Duo, one coat left the most beautiful semi mate finish ever, that stuff was amazing! Six months later I find out that the Duo is discontinued and purchased the Premium, since I was just doing touch ups, both paints in eggshell base 1 using the same color. After my touch ups it became very apparent that semi mate has a entirely different meaning now. I mean this stuff should be considered a semi gloss. Now I'm forced to find another paint brand who's paint matches the semi mate finish I loved on my Duo and re paint the whole thing.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mike09 Price is attractive but the quality of paint is terrible
I bought this product because of the price, I purchased a 5 gallon container of eggshell to paint my living room and bedrooms, I was only able to complete my living room and one bedroom each room is average size nothing huge both rooms took close to 4 coats of paint to complete and that's just going over a base white, next time I'll spend the extra money and get the higher end paint

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Mrpalmere Very poor coverage
Poor coverage. Primed walls first with primer, then 2 coats of this product, pure white base1, and still not getting complete coverage. Suppose to be paint and primer in one, but does not cover even with 2 coats and primed. The walls were only an antique white to start with. Just ridiculous that they would need 4 or more coats to get complete coverage. Very sad :(

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by LueenJ coverage is not so great
I was repainting the bathroom, chose a very similar shade of yellow and was surprised that I needed 2-3 coats of paint to cover where there was a border. Not very happy. Color is great but disappointed in the way the paint went on, very thin.

did not cover the old color, used some house brand primer on a medium pale green, and then was painting yellow, 2 coats and the green still bled thru

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beth Landlady, on my 3rd color with Premium Matte
To my delight the Gerbera Red went on true to color, and was easy to rework, touch ups matched, and it was streak free. Reds can be difficult due to pigment. Next a wedgewood blue showed differences between the brushed line-out and the rolled areas, always working wet on wet. Touch ups showed separation of the paint, showing a darker blue even when stirring often during the job. All of the gallon was used, and. I had to purchase a second gallon to second coat. to cover spots. A pale gray was a disaster, and I wish I could attach photos. Streaks, light and dark tones, watery and drippy even with constant stirring. The paint brushed and rolled differently, leaving two tones, the long view along the wall shows streaks of matte and light -reflecting surface. Im taking back a half gallon. I miss America's Finest before the VOC revision. It always matched on touch up and lasted in the can.

as a painter for over 20 years, i've used a lot of brands. i have always recommended Glidden to customers if they want a decent cheaper. However.....after using it due to customer purchasing already, i have changed my tune. problems?........1st, the color and finish between the brushed ares and the rolled areas are noticeably different. 2nd the paint was so thin it went on like water thus needing 3 coats. 3rd i had to back track areas to brush down and re-roll down runs. 4th the color continued to separate in the tray while being used so badly it showed on the wall. and finally wiping the wall once dried resulted in a discolored area. I have paints i refuse to use for my customers and glidden is now on that list.

When we first moved into our house it had plain white boring walls , as we cleaned them up a bit we noticed previous paint colors showing through, So we decided to paint the walls to not only add some warmth to the house we did not want to see yellow showing through , We asked the paint associate for ideas and she recommend that we use the Glidden Premium paint and primer, so we chose our shade mixed it up and proceeded to paint, It covered and went on smoothly and user friendly , If It can survive my 3 kids bumping around then it can survive anything and still look as good as the day it was painted
