Customer Reviews

1-qt. Flat Interior Paint is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 148.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Did not dry or adhere I purchased the glidden semi gloss paint for a desk I was refinishing. I painted 2 coats allowing a few hours dry time between. After over a week the paint still hasn't dried. It remained sticky and could be scraped off with a fingernail and anything placed on the surface left permenant marks. I was thinking it was due to a previous layer of paint so I stripped the entire desk to bare wood, let it dry completely, sanded to rough it up, put down appropriate primer and did a test spot to see if the issue still persisted. This was done in low humidity, indoors, 70 degrees and even put a fan on it for a few days. STILL, the paint never dried and remained sticky except in 1 or 2 areas where the paint was very thin. I did not think it was a great value in the first place but I definitely wouldn't recommend it for anything that will ever be touched. I have to strip the paint off again and purchase a different brand since I obviously didn't keep the receipt for a can of paint. Never had any issues like this with any type or brand of paint in my life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Awful coverage - waste of time and money I have used glidden high endurance many times w no issues. I happen to be refinishing my kitchen and chose a glidden from the hardware store since they did not have what I usually get. Figured glidden hadn't done me wrong before, why not! I ended up getting Glidden premium for both my cabinets and walls. My cabinets were primed with three layers of primer, FIVE coats of glidden premium (which claims to be a primer and paint) later they were still not white. On the walls I was two coats in and clearly would need another two coats. Instead of buying more of this I went to Walmart and got my trusty high endurance and it's all coming out beautifully. This selection of glidden is garbage unfortunately. It took me three times as much time (thinking it was the stain not the cabinets) to do something that easily would have been avoided if product worked as promised. Wish I would have done the walls first to see the poor quality of this paint. I spent almost a week trying to figure out what was going wron and why my cabinets weren't coming out white. Would have saved cost wrong in primer too had I known. First disappointment with glidden but definitely a very big waste of time and money. The store refuses to refund because it wasn't them that chose the paint or manufactured it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Easy to use and great coverage I have painted many times over the years, and on multiple surfaces. This paint is just the right consistency to stay on the brush or roller, yet flows smoothly onto the surface. My current project involves new unpainted sheetrock, old painted sheetrock, as well as wood, both painted and unpainted. This is the paint that meets the challenge. Great coverage, gorgeous color, and at the end of the day cleanup is a snap. I have just one regret with this paint - I live in a rural area and have to travel 2 hours round-trip for more of this excellent product. But it's worth it! Rated 5 out of 5 by from Drifting Snow is dreamy This color is everything I wanted for a bedroom. The paint went on easily with no fumes or mess. It looks spectacular in contrast to flat white trim colors. I admire it daily. I also used Premium Flat white for trim and Premium semi-gloss white for crown molding. Rated 2 out of 5 by from disappointing as a painter for over 20 years, i've used a lot of brands. i have always recommended Glidden to customers if they want a decent cheaper. However.....after using it due to customer purchasing already, i have changed my tune. problems?........1st, the color and finish between the brushed ares and the rolled areas are noticeably different. 2nd the paint was so thin it went on like water thus needing 3 coats. 3rd i had to back track areas to brush down and re-roll down runs. 4th the color continued to separate in the tray while being used so badly it showed on the wall. and finally wiping the wall once dried resulted in a discolored area. I have paints i refuse to use for my customers and glidden is now on that list.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very dependable product In addition to my personal residence, I own several rental properties, both residential and commercial. I have used Glidden paints for many years because of the good coverage it provides as well as durability. In the rental properties, I generally use the same colors in order to allow for touch-ups as well as to minimize multiple coats. The Glidden paints have always covered well with one coat which is important from a cost savings perspective. Although Glidden may change the paint formulas over the years, I have always been able to have the paint matched in order to maintain the same colors. I consider their paint to be an excellent product from both a performance and cost perspective. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
