Can I use a paint sprayer with the Glidden Premium Flat exterior paint?

This question is from 5 gal. Flat Latex Exterior Paint

This house was painted in the 90's. Mostly wood on the back of the house. Brick on the front, sides, columns as you can see in photo. The paint is peeling in very few places, mostly on top porch at back and around some of the windows. We plan on power washing the mold off...Louisiana is very humid...so there is mold everywhere even under the eaves. We are keeping the brick as it is...not painting it.

Can one coat of the Glidden premium flat work on this house? I read reviews in Consumer Digest and it rates very high. OR would you use the Glidden Spred Flat, rated a little higher?

Answer:
This Glidden sprays nice. I would either backroll behind the spray or consider brushing and rolling for better protection though. The wood appears dry...the spray from the sprayer(even gas powered 3200 psi sprayers) will catch at the surface wood and not penetrate or bridge cracks. A good heavy hand application of paint will "work" the paint into the wood and add years and years of service.

Yes you can spray our Glidden Premium Exterior Flat. It sprays very nicely, and you can find more instructions for doing so on the label. We recommend the Premium Flat as well. Very high quality for that price point, you wont be disappointed! Thanks for reaching out

Hey there Cottontop,
The Glidden Exterior Latex Paint can be used with an airless sprayer. It requires a 0.15 - 0.21 tip opening and 0.4-1.0 gpm pump rating, with a recommended fan size of 10"-12".
I would not suggest simply doing a single coating of any type of paint, especially exterior. For a proper color display and coverage, a minimum of two coats is recommended. As far as product, Glidden Spred Read More

Answer:
Absolutely. No red or yellow though....but this is true for any paint. Most colors in this paint will hide and protect in 1 coat. Be sure to apply at about 300-350 sq ft/ gallon, as recommended on can.

Answer:
It depends on the surface, the color being used, and the application technique, but in almost all cases we recommend using two coats for this product. It will last longer and look beautiful for years to come. For more exterior questions please give us a call at 1-800-GLIDDEN. Thank you

Answer:
Hello,
When painting with darker colors we usually recommend a separate primer. The primer is going to give you better color retention and accuracy as well as better adhesion. For exterior surfaces it becomes more important because of any prep areas where you may have scraped peeling paint or filled holes. It also depends on the colors you are using. Please ask your local Home Depot associate or give us Read More
