The coverage on this paint is pretty average. I've used all the major brands and this falls into the same class as the other paints typically on sale. What separates this paint from everything else is the dry time. If the humidity is low enough, and the first coat of paint thin enough, you can start your second coat after just 30 minutes of drying time! This makes it a good primer to even out the tones between repairs and walls with multiple colors. I've spent an entire day repairing and priming a master bedroom before, now with this paint it takes about 3 to 4 hours off that time.

this paint goes on very very smooth , like silk. i've never used an expensive paint, but i imagine that this one is very similar to those, because compared to other inexpensive paints, this one is ten times better. covers really well but since it dries so fast, it's easy to overwork the paint and make a mess. next time i will get the type that doesnt dry so fast if that is available

I have not have any of the problems others have reported with the paint. I do not know if Glidden improved the quality, it was applied properly, or I just received a great batch, but I couldn't be happier. I used a Wagner Spray Station sprayer, and it worked beautifully. In preparing to sell our house, I used it to repaint our downstairs walk-in coat closet, which was very marked up and scuffed since we keep our shoes in there (i.e. 5 of us, including 3 teenagers, throw shoes, school bags, purses, and anything else that needs to be picked up quickly!) I also repainted our entire stairway walls (flat paint=handprints and scuffs all over the walls!) and landing walls. I was able to finish all that with one gallon of paint with a little left over for touch ups with a brush. A week later our house sold and everyone commented on how clean and beautiful the house looked. I know the new paint had a lot to do with that. This is a great economical option if that's what you need. I didn't need primer as I was repainting over the same flat color, but if you're painting over anything but flat or a darker color, follow the instructions carefully and consider using primer. Also make sure to stir the paint WELL immediately before applying it so there are no streaks or color when applied.

Ok... so this is not going to be as good of a paint as one of the "Paint-and-primer-in-one" paints out there, but you're paying an arm and a leg for those. This paint, however, is exceptional at $14/gallon. Follow the label's instructions and don't judge the paint before the second coat (most/all paints recommend doing two coats anyway) is done. The paint flows off the roller and brush well (it's ok to use cheap(er) paint, but NEVER go the cheap route on the roller cover or brush unless you want bad results) and covers well with two coats. The results I received with this paint speak for themselves. If, as some have mentioned in their review, the paint is not covering well perhaps the cause is poor tools or switching from light to dark (or vice versa) without priming first (which is always recommended).
Bottom line, if your painting skills are intermediate or above, this product is great. For beginners, don't be afraid to try it (I mean it's $14 for a gallon!!!), just check out a few youtube videos to brush up on your skills first.

We had to freshen up our bedroom and cover up some "artwork" our 3 year old left on his bedroom walls. After talking to the paint guy at Home Depot and reading reviews on this paint we decided to go for it. Grabbed 2 gallons and all I can say is we are very pleased. We only had to do one coat on our walls and 2 coats covered up the artwork (crayons and pen). Perfect paint for the price! No need to buy the expensive stuff and it dries SUPER fast!!!!

I painted this is my bathroom, in the Glidden color "warm caramel". I was painting primed drywall. It went on perfectly and smoothly, and needed only one coat. Dried quickly and looked perfect. Took a half gallon to do my entire small bathroom.
I then used Martha Steward Precious Metals paint to put a colorwash finish over the base coat. It was a little harder to do than I thought it would be. The finish was a light gold, high gloss color. It looked ok, but in the end it wasn't really the effect I wanted and I decided to paint over it. I picked up another gallon of Speewall, but decided to go with semi-gloss this time, because being a bathroom, I decided I needed something more water repellant than eggshell. This time I got the paint mixed in Dutch Boy's Colonial Cobblestone.
I wasn't sure if it would cover the previous paint very well, but I tested it out and it covered very well. So I started re-painting the whole bathroom floor to ceiling and was done in just over an hour. The next day, I turned on all lights and checked over the walls. It looked almost perfect but I was able to find some of the old paint showing through when I looked very closely. I did a quick second coat in about 30 minutes, and was done. Very happy with the result.
