Will fill in hairline cracks and light stains in one coat. Two coats completely changed how my garage looks. All the tire marks (hanging bikes) and skid marks (lawn equipment) disappear after one thick coat or two light ones. Will dry in 30 minutes OR LESS, so be careful when you take a bathroom break because it will glue your stuff together.
Does not clean with water though, so you will trash anything you use to apply it with.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Paint4u All in one primer
This primer does it all. If your painting over existing paint and your not sure if its oil or latex. If you have stained walls from water damaged, or from kids art projects with permanent marker. Or if you have new dry wall and you want to insure excellent adhesion. Gripper will do it all.
BTW...Wear the proper clothes for the job, and don't get it in your hair, you will be wearing a new hairdo for a while.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by DoAllHandymanService Great product
As a Handyman Service We only use Glidden Gripper primer. It has never failed us in coverage and grip. We have painted over laminate, glass, ceramic tile and other surfaces.
We were to remove wallpaper, the wallpaper was applied over the drywall, without primer
We put a very light coat of Gripper, then floated the seams and painted over the wallpaper. The job turned out beautiful
The option would have been to replace the drywall in the room.
This is an outstanding product!!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by txhotmomma83 OMG! AMAZING!!!!!!!!
This primer is exactly what it is called "GRIPPER"! I first bought the primer to paint over an old trashed dresser and nightstand that had the cheap old wood grain laminate surface. When I bought it I was really doubtful that the small can would cover so much surface area but it blew my mind! I used only half the can on both and that was with 2-3 coats. I had the primer tinted a light blue shade to go with the darker blue paint I was using over it.
I loved it so much I used the rest of the primer to paint my son's "new" bed!
Oh and it also dries super fast compared to other primers.
Like I said, this stuff is amazing! It is worth the higher price tag!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by JonBob Superior flow, levelling & adhesion.
When properly applied this primer is hard to beat. May not cover especially well even over lighter colors, but this stuff will stick to, fill and even out some horrendous surfaces.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PaintingProfessional Excellent for multiple priming purposes
As a professional painting contractor for the past 20 years and painting professional since 1986, I have had the opportunity to use several different primers. After being introduced to this primer by a 50+ year painter and contractor from Texas I continue to be impressed by the performance of this produce. I use this product for priming exterior and interior surfaces in the various Michigan weather.
The value of this product supersedes any other primer within the Gripper price range and/or capability.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TIM2515 Best primer ever
I am by no means a professional painter but I have to share this with you. In my kitchen I have oak cabinets tha were screaming to be updated. I wanted to paint them white but was thinking of all the work and mess involved with the sanding.Sure I have a sander to do all the flat surfaces but then there are the nooks and cranies and the rouded edges that would have to be done by hand. Not to mention all the mess from the dust. My sister recomended I try the Gripper from Glidden and I'm so glad she did. One coat and the cabinets were ready for paint! The cabinets are finished now and are beautiful. This truly is the best primer ever. It saves me both time and money. I can't say enough!!!!!!
