Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lindalw6 Gripper is a great name for this paint!
I had read several reviews of different primer coating products, but this one had the most dedicated users, so it looked like a good bet! I had to paint my floor in the bathroom, and I only wanted to paint it once; that's what it did, all the cover that was needed. I painted over Gripper with some floor paint, and it looks great! Not only was it a good project, it was a fast job, considering all the steps that I took. Gave it a day to dry, and painted right over it, easy peasy. Thanks, Glidden!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Macker14 Glidden Gripper unfortunately only available in the USA
I live in Canada and have always used KILZ which is ok. My neighbour in Florida said only to use GRIPPER as his son is a pro painter. I used it in my double wide to paint the paneling and the pre fab ceilings. It worked so well on the ceilings that it even filled and sealed the cracks between the tiles and vinyl strips. It took 2 coats to obtain this but it looks great.
There is no comparison between GRIPPER and KILZ as Gripper reigned supreme.
My only complaint is we Canadians get screwed again as they won't sell it in Canada. Their reasons are that DULUX offers a similar product. The only similarity is they are both white.
Can't wait to get back to the states so I can bring some home.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Adrian Can Gripper be used on bare wood?
Is Gripper an effective primer and sealer on bare wood especially when material is in a salt spray environment or is it better to use a solvent based wood primer?

Glidden gripper is absolutely the best primer I have ever used. It sticks better than glue. Once it is painted onto a prepared surface, it will not come loose.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Scott2001 The smell of the dead was vanquished
The room smelled of death. We feared a hidden gem from the dogs, or worse, a rat had fought the good fight amongst the walls and lost. We thought the smell might pass. It did not.
It got worse. The smell started creeping into the fringes of the rest of the house. Something needed to be done. We needed to apply "The Gripper". 10 gallons applied liberally to the walls attacked the rancid smell. The smell was strong, but it was no match for the power of "The Gripper". Soon, the room felt normal again. There was much rejoicing in the household. We could live again in the living room.
Life is good, thanks to "The Gripper".

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by enginerd Covers like spackle, sticks like glue
Will fill in hairline cracks and light stains in one coat. Two coats completely changed how my garage looks. All the tire marks (hanging bikes) and skid marks (lawn equipment) disappear after one thick coat or two light ones. Will dry in 30 minutes OR LESS, so be careful when you take a bathroom break because it will glue your stuff together.
Does not clean with water though, so you will trash anything you use to apply it with.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by housepainter1 Best primer ever!
I am writing because I believe in this product. Gripper primer really sticks to the surface you are painting. It will stick to anything! I recommend using gloves because if you get it on your hands, it will be a task to get it off. It is long lasting for painting exterior house siding, benches, fences and even concrete! I have to have it on hand at all times.
