Customer Questions & Answers

Is there a longer hose, for my apt room is very small. And can I install it in my window myself?

Asked by: Donnie
the hose is about 5 ft…..not sure about longer hose, you would have to contact the company who makes it….but they do specify not to use any hose other than the kind made for the a/c…. yes, you can install easy enough….no need for taking apart your window screen, just put the plates into the frame so they fit in snug….and you can adjust size by cutting with wire scissors if it's too big…they give you three plates to work with then you just shut the window glass against the plate to hold it in place and keep it closed to keep the hot air from coming in….and attach the hose to the hole in the one plate…turn on a/c and you've got instant cooling :)

My window is 22.5 inches wide. Will this unit's window kit work? Do I need to find a specific one for that width of window?

Asked by: suzyq
The plates are not so wide so it should be fine…..the only thing is if the plates are too long like in our case, we just cut one of them with wire scissors and now it's good

How far can the window installation kit expand?

I have a wider-than-average window and was wondering if the window hose hookup would extend wide enough to fit.
Asked by: Vicky
Can someone clarify this? One answer says 6 feet, the other says 3' 6". Can someone confirm the maximum the window kit can expand?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything I needed I live alone in a small studio apartment on the first floor. I love that this is portable so I can easily take it down myself when the winter comes. Even though it's heavy, the wheels make it easy to navigate. Setting up wasn't as easy as I thought. I don't mind the sound, but it might bother you if you're an extremely light sleeper. I love that it has two fan settings, a dehumidifier (which has been minimizing the insects!), air conditioner, timer, and remote. I only wish it was a weekly timer that I could set instead of setting it every 24 hours because I'm usually away for the whole weekend. Overall, this was well worth the purchase and it does everything I needed it to do.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems to work well This AC Unit seems to work well. I honestly thought that it would cool the room faster but I don't have any similar products to compare it to so I think that it does what it is supposed to. Currently have it installed in an approx. 300sqft room and it will bring the temp down from say 85 to 80 within about an hour. After the initial 5 degree drop, the cooling slows down if the rest of the house is still at 85 but if you close off the room, it will drop the temp another 5 degrees within about 2 more hours. Seems to work fine and it was cheaper than other models with similar BTU's.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great A/C I was a little skeptical about buying a portable A/C because I had heard that they don't cool as well as a window unit, but I am very happy with this purchase. I was able to install it myself and it is so much quieter than my other A/C and it cools my bedroom quickly. I haven't received my first electric bill since installing it, but I'm sure it will be much more efficient than my old window unit. I would highly recommend this product.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Purchase The AC was not the easiest thing to assemble, or move. It is difficult to get the vent/tube hooked up. You have to keep turning it like a corkscrew to lock up with the louvers on the AC, and it is not easy. It popped out of place when we moved the unit to the other side of the room. Also, it is supposed to cool up to 450 square feet. Our room is about 415, and the first few days it seemed to not cool the room sufficiently (which is why we moved it closer to our bed). Now it is working well.
