I have acoustic ceiling tiles now and will be covering them with these panels. I know I may need a little more glue due to the uneven surface. Which is the best glue?

Answer:
the directions say yes, but from what i have seen the surface needs to be totally flat for them to line up correctly. Only way I would see to do it is to scrap all of the popcorn off entirely first.

Answer:
i would have to say no. they are to flimsy, to look right they need the whole surface to be glued to something. Maybe if you put up some kind of board first then it would work. just make sure to prime it or they do not stick well

Answer:
Technically they can be glued to anything, but you don't want to do that with these. They are really thin and would be fragile and not supported if stuck to joists every 16". I doubt that would meet local code. For correct electrical fixture spacing and insulation and resale value, just get some 1/2" sheetrock, slap that up first and then put these over that.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Don't !!! save yourself a bunch of time and money. They look good once they are up...but getting them up is the issue. The surface better be totally level, use the correct glue, and when putting them up you had better be sure every single one is exactlyon where it needs to be or the whole pattern goes off quickly. and even when they are put up perfectly..YOU can still see all the seams. I thought this would be a time saver and it was the furthest thing from it. I will NEVER use these again nor will I ever recommend them. Worst decision I have ever made in years of home renovation. Live and learn I guess. Sad thing is at the cost of them, you cant even return them because now they have glue on them.....You have one shot to get them up correct or the product will tear and cause damage to surface if you try to take them off to fix something....originally ordered 36, then had to tear down and replace 11..Over $700 into this and it looks horrible!..still trying to figure how how to at least get the seams to stay down. At this point may staple the whole thing and paint over it....We could have had a local professional drywall finisher come in to swirl it for a third of what we got stuck paying..not to mention the glue cost..... Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Awesome when installed I wish i could show a pic of my cieling. I too thought it looked like plastic when i took it out of the box...but after we glued it to the 12x12 10ft cieling it was incredible looking. Did some nice crown to tighten it up. I am a builder and my custom metal fabricator couldnt believe it when i told him it was fake. He made me get my ladder out so he could feel it for himself. Nothing but compliments when people see it. I am actually ordering it again for my current project. 1.2 mil home i am building. My client loved our so much. January 8, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by LOOKS CHEAP I don't know where to begin. They should get rid of this SKU. The product looks cheap. I was so disappointed when I received the items. It looks like plastic and the photograph does it a lot more justice than the real item. Had the impressions in the design been a bit better like it seems in the photo it would be okay, but I would be embarrassed to use this item in our office. I only give it a fair quality because when it accidentally bent because it was so paper thin it didn't break. November 15, 2014
