Customer Questions & Answers

Is this fixture IC-rated?

Can it safely come into contact with attic insulation? If not, would a (low-heat) LED bulb allow it to come into contact safely?
Asked by: ValueConscious
This fixture is not IC rated, so it cannot come into contact with insulation. You must either use an insulation box, or keep all insulation at least 3.5 inches away from the fixture. LED bulbs produce less heat, but it would still not be safe to have insulation touching the fixture.

Can three of these be wired together and plugged into a 110/120 AC outlet that works off a wall switch.

I want to replace three lights in an old bridge bed.
Asked by: John
Hey John, Since this is already a 120 VAC system, you can plug in the last light into a switch. However, just be sure that this will not overload the existing outlet and circuit that it is on. Be sure to use a clamp connector to where the cord will go into the last fixture so the wire doesn't get frayed and it is secure. Joseph
