Customer Questions & Answers

How do I interpret the LEDs?

Asked by: jim
Thank you for your inquiry, The red light indicates that the surge protection feature is working. The green light indicates the unit is grounded. Both lights should be on when the swivel surge protector is working properly. Best Regards,

Is this held in place by a screw?

Some similar adapters fall out of the sockets when cords are unplugged. A center screw would stabilize the unit.
Asked by: Marty
This model 7732301, 8-outlet swivel surge tap with surge protection, can be held in place with a screw as this would prevent the unit from coming off the wall when several items are plugged in at once - Globe Customer Care

Does this plug directly into an electrical outlet, or does it require a cord to plug into the outlet?

I have an outlet under a wall mounted tv and wall mounted component shelves, but need more electrical ports. However, I don't want to have the electrical cords having to run along the floor.
Asked by: jaddis10
It can be plugged in directly to the outlet. The only thing is you have to take out the existing screw (on the face plate) and screw in this unit with the longer screw coming with this item.

How long is the cord on this power bar?

Asked by: Grammy49
This product is a wall tap, not a power bar or strip - there is no cord. It is installed directly to the wall in an outlet. - Globe Customer Care

Customer Reviews

8-Outlet Swivel Surge Tap with Surge Protection - White is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Simple and it works! I needed something to adapt a basic duplex outlet to be able to handle the bulky adapters that go with computers and still allow other low current devices to be plugged in. This did the trick. I've got three of the nasty adapters, one lamp timer and a pair of IPhone chargers plugged into this thing. And it could actually handle two more small plugs. The 6-outlet unit couldn't accomodate the larger adapters and still have space for small plugs. Exactly what I needed, with a Surge Protector thrown in as a bonus. The swiveling feature is a significant part of what makes this work well. It may look a bit goofy, but it's totally safe. Better than any of the alternatives I've seen - and I've really looked!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value & product for wire organization This product is great! The icing on the cake is that I got them on sales. It has plenty of outlets and I need it in my home office. I have 3 monitors, TV, cable modem, printer, backup drive, fan/heater, etc. Having this outlet allow met to separate all the wires mess. I have another one installed in my bedroom and since it swivels to the side, my bed can finally be pushed to the wall and not damage the table lamps I have.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fills the need nicely Consider a lock on the reset switch so that inquisitive little fingers can't turn off the outlet.
