Product Overview

Originating hundreds of years ago in Japan, Rain Chains act as linked funnels and are a decorative alternative to a cheerless gutter downspout. Rainwater playfully dances and flows down these handcrafted copper channels as it is guided from the rooftop to the ground. A natural patina will develop on the polished copper styles over time, adding to the character and charm of these delightful chains.

  • One of our most popular items, our pure copper rain chains in a broad selection of styles and finishes will appeal to every taste
  • Finish: polished copper
  • 6 ft. rain chain includes a gutter clip for easy installation
  • Add our rain chain basin, sold separately

Customer Questions & Answers

I need a rain chain that is about 8 1/2' or a little more. Can I buy two?

Do two rain chains hook together? Is it possible to order a longer rain chain of a specified length?
Asked by: Judy
You can buy and connect several if you wish, just be opening the last copper ring and connecting the next chain. Very simple, but consider the added weight on the connector mechanism

How do you affix a rain chain to your gutter?

Asked by: Tudi
Hi Trudi, The rain chain comes with a flexible piece of copper or other metal you insert into the bottom of the gutter drain connection.(down spout) after removing the drainline beneath the gutter The rain them runs along the gutter to the downspout into the downspout, past the wire clip and down the chain..........It is very cool, makes a nice sound and is easy to use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from COMBINED THIS PURCASE WITH THE 85 GAL. TERRA COTTA WATERURN DECORATIVE URN RAIN BARREL KIT WITH INTEGRATED PLANTER I combined this purchase with the 85 gallon terra cotta waterurn after seeing the online video of the rain chains in action. What follows it the review of both. I combined this purchase of the waterurn with two double link polished copper rain chains and will discuss them both here and copy this to the my rain chain review. This urn is a monster and you need a good spot for a large container so it doesn't crowd out your area. Also remember weighs 700 lbs or more when full, so pick your spot in consideration of that: Mine in on my deck straddling two deck floor joists. I also bought the honeycomb plastic 'paver' to put under the urn which effectively spreads the weight and I recommend that too. Though made of some form of resin or plastic, the appearance is very realistic as a terra cotta piece. This waterurn comes with a fairly creative induction setup to connect to a downspout, which I did not use because I don't have a downspout coming off the old gutter of my barn and I wanted to use the rainchain which was cross referenced to me when I first looked at the urn online,, so we positioned the urn where desired on the deck over the two joists then blocked the existing downspout hole in the gutter and cut another one in the gutter directly over the the urn. My son, who is an awesome carpenter then connected two rain chains (we needed about 11 feet and one chain was too short), and attached them to the new gutter hole to drop roof water down the chain directly over the center of the urn. He then cut about a 2 inch hole in the center of the top of the urn where the planter is and attached the rain chain to to the hole. First rainstorm the urn filled completely and it was awesome to watch how the water follows the rain chain down to the urn. Not the exact design as per the instructions, but in my mind, far superior. The rain chain is easily adjusted for length and though I bought the large double ring chain, there are many choices. One reminder, the drain at the bottom of the urn and the two foot hose are good, but the water flow depends on gravity and the weight of the water in the urn, so you will not be able to run a garden hose with normal stream from it unless you elevate the urn. However I use it to fill a watering pot for my deck plants and it works wonderfully. Highly recommended.
