Product Overview

The Rain Wizard Urn is a thing of beauty and clever design. Constructed with thick and durable polyethylene resin which holds up to the harshest elements, the exterior has the appearance of a terra cotta urn. The graceful lines, curves, and garnishes on the exterior make it an accent piece on your home’s exterior and not something that just sticks to your house. The flat back design optimizes space used and allows you to position the barrel close to walls or flat areas. The top is the only of its kind that not only acts as a planter space, but also features a unique watering system that leeches excess water from the barrel itself. There is also a channel built into the rim which diverts overflowing water to the front and away from the barrel and home foundation. You can have peace of mind that you're helping the environment by conserving water and giving your garden the best water it can get, devoid of harsh chemicals and rich in nutrients. And you can perform that conservation without sacrificing your home's outer appearance with the very stylish and functional Rain Wizard Urn.

Answer:
Hello, Tucker. We can't say that it is mosquito proof but we have never had a mosquito complaint since the product was released to the market in 2010. With that said, it's recommended that you fill the top planter area with either rocks or plants. This will avoid any potential flooding or blockage from stray debris that could create standing water if not attended to. Thank you for your question.

Answer:
Absolutely, AR. We do, however, recommend that you drain the barrel to keep it from expanding from freezing water and potentially cracking. We also advise storing the barrel upside down if you do take it in for winter, so water doesn't sit inside of it. Thank you for your question.

I would place barrel on patio deck to catch water dropping 6 feet from roof parapet scupper with no drain pipe to rain barrel. Is the planter top removable?

Answer:
Hello, Bob. The planter top is not removable as a safety precaution. However, many people have been able to use their rain barrel without a gutter system. Often times there will be a single stop that just drips or a rain chain can be used to funnel water towards the top. Thank you for your question

Answer:
The Polyethylene we use is BPA free. However, the water is not potable due to environmental contaminants. If you wanted to use the collected rain water for drinking, it should be properly filtered and/or treated first.

Rated 4.0 out of 5 by 19 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Watering Made Simple This is my 2nd Rain Wizard. The style, ease of installation and overall design is perfect for what I needed. I added a pergola to my deck a few years ago and wanted a way to capture the rainwater. I installed a gutter system to the pergola and added the rain barrel to the downspout. It's very handy and even the dogs love the fresh rain water! July 13, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works well I really like the Rain Wizard Urn. It holds more water and the outlet is much better than the one it replaced. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great for saving water We are waiting for El Nino and this is when URN becomes a great value. November 10, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rain barrel Great durable product . I would definitely get them again. I purchased 3 of them. September 29, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful product I've had 5 of these rain barrels for 4 yrs. This latest purchase makes # 6. I have been very pleased with them. They have saved me lots of money on my water bill and the rain water is so much better for my flowers. I've had no problems with my rain barrels. I set them on cinder blocks to use gravity to aid in the water flow. The terra cotta color blends well with my red brick house. People don't even notice them. August 11, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Product Great product, looks nice, brass spigot not cheap plastic one. Catching lots of summer monsoon rain here in Arizona. September 1, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rain Barrel Purchase We are very excited to have our rain barrel set up. It was easy to set up and assemble. Just take it out of the box, install the on/off switch, connect the gutter and wait for it to rain! Thank you Home Depot. September 9, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Everything I hoped it would be. Ordered my rain barrel on line and it arrived before the date given. It was easy to set up and holds more than enough water to water all the plants in my smaller garden. The planter is a nice touch on top. July 21, 2015
