How well does gorilla tape work under high heat

Exhaust pipe
Asked by: Darnell
No it would not take that kind of heat. Some parts of an exhaust system actually get "cherry red" with heat.

heavy duty Duct Tape

Do you have 4 inches wide duct tape in stores
Asked by: David
The widest I have seen is slightly wider than 1 7/8". but you could lay strips side by side or overlap them and get your 4". I don't know if Gorilla makes 4" but you could check with your friendly Home Depot person and they will be able to tell you.

would gorilla tape leave a residue if i use it to secure extension cords onto the carpet?

Asked by: valc
Don't know - I have used it to attach two pieces of extruded rubber together and when pulling it off it does leave residue which is easily cleaned of with nail polish remover or the like.

Does it adhere to brown paper bags?

Asked by: Anonymous
Lady P, this would adhere to your hair if you let it; to floors, to windows, to anything wrapped properly. So paper bags should be no prob.

Have I done something wrong? Adhesive did not hold well.

Went to attic & found this tape did not adhere well. Tape may handle high temperatures. But what about the adhesive? Can I use this tape for HVAC ducts? Is there a better product?
Asked by: Lew
Hey Lew Gotta love that attic work! Never seen one without a lot of dust. When I use this tape, I have found that dust doesn't help the tape stick very well. As far as the heat, I repaired my tractor seat with it , and it has been in the hot sun without any ill effects. As far as other products go I have seen the HVAC guys use a foil tape on the ducts. A search of the Home Depot site came up with Nashua Tape Model # 1207792 Internet # 100030120 Store SKU # 915245. I have also seen them use a mastic over seams and joints like Model # WBA50 Internet # 100396973 Store SKU # 559722 Hope that helps you out!

1-7/8 in. x 35 yds. Heavy-Duty Duct Tape is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 63.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good on wood Used it on pieces of wood that needed to be glued together at odd angles while I figured out how to clamp effectively. It held up to being bumped and jostled without becoming unstuck or stretching. The pieces didnt move a bit. Sawdust prevents proper adhesion so make sure surfaces are clean and dust free (not sure about moisture). How you put it on is also important - apply lots of pressure for very strong bond and light pressure for less. It came off pretty easily and did not damage surfaces or leave residue.

I have always been blessed to call someone to fix things around the house. I am not a DIY person, but times have changed and saving $$ is a must. Our city was under a wind advisory and I was a victim of a blown fence. I recalled the commercial last year showing the guy fixing his kids tree house. Went to Home Depot and bought three rolls. After figuring out how to work this tape effectively, I was able to secure my fence for $8 (only needed one roll of tape; on sale for $7.97) until I can properly have a part of my fence replaced. This stuff works and I will never use regular duct tape again. Overall, I am very satisfied and will keep the two rolls for other DIY stuff. Gorilla Tape Fan!!

Until recently I was using the silver duct tape from the dollar store and wondering why it didn't work well and I was using so much (go figure). I finally bit the bullet and purchased the gorilla tape and am I glad I did! One small piece will keep anything together and you are money ahead. Being a single, female homeowner there are times when duct tape has to do the job :-)

Product use and the way in which it excelled was for a particular project. It may not be good to use for other projects, e.g. one where clear, thinner tape is more useful. Gorilla tape follows along with Gorilla glue. It is strong and tough and can be used inside or out. used this to help make door inserts for a farmers porch. Worked like a charm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It works! This tape works! We've used it everywhere around the house from securing duct insulation under the house, to garden projects where it is exposed to rain and and dust. When we need tape, this is our first choice.
