Product Overview

Gorilla Tape has taken duct tape to a new level. Gorilla Tape's toughness surpasses ordinary tapes, making the list of uses virtually endless. It sticks to rough and uneven surfaces, including wood, stone, stucco and brick, that ordinary tapes can't hold.

  • Double-thick adhesive: grips smooth, rough and uneven surfaces
  • Tough, reinforced backing: the tight weave contributes to the heft but Gorilla tape can still be ripped by hand
  • Rugged, weather-resistant shell: withstands moisture, uv rays and temperature extremes better than other tapes
  • 35 yard roll

This tape should adhere easily to brown paper bags. My application involved plastic film and ceramic tile. The tape adhered to both surfaces even under conditions of constant moisture.

Hi Lady P! Good question. The adhesive on Gorilla Tape is so aggressive that it has a tendency to pull all the fibers off of some brown paper bags. Hi Lady P! Good question. The adhesive on Gorilla Tape is so aggressive that it has a tendency to pull all the fibers off of some brown paper bags. Basically, the adhesive on the Gorilla Tape may become clogged with brown bag fibers, and if that happens, the tape is likely to release from the bag. If you apply the tape several times to the same location on the bag and pull it off quickly (without ripping the bag), you can use the tape to remove most of the fibers. Then, the tape has a better chance of sticking. Just make sure to apply pressure to the tape when it is finally applied. If the brown paper bag you are using has a smoother surface, and is not as fibrous, then the tape will have no trouble adhering. We recommend testing the tape on a small portion of the bag first to see if it will work on the particular type of bag you are using. Read Less

Gorilla tape is thick and black. If using cardboard, just about any tape will do. They now have duck tape in colors and designs.

Hi Carmen,
You should have no problem using the tape to piece the two pieces of cardboard together. I have never tried to apply paint to the surface of Gorilla duct tape however, if I were to do so, I would choose to use a latex based paint over an oil based paint. The oil may cause the tape to break down where the latex should have no affet to the tapes physical property.Hope this information

Answer:
Hi Carmen! Yes, you can paint Gorilla Tape. Please be aware that once dry, many paints will peel off the surface of the Tape. We recommend using “Krylon Fusion for Plastic Paint” – a spray paint that won't peel off the surface of the Tape.

Answer:
Yes you can paint on this tape without a problem. The best type of paint would be spray paint. If you would like to brush it on, you can, just make sure to use an oil based primer first.

It will leave a residue that will be difficult to remove. I have removed the tape from a tennis court and the residue was still visible a Yeats later.

Don't know - I have used it to attach two pieces of extruded rubber together and when pulling it off it does leave residue which is easily cleaned of with nail polish remover or the like.

This may be a temporary solution and you would have to sand the plastic, glue it in place when it is clean and dry before applying the tape. I would look for another way like epoxy.

Hello Jimmy!
Yes, this tape will work for your ice rink. I would recommend taping both sides of the seem (the side with the water and the side that will be on the ground) to ensure that no water gets through.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by gorrilla tape bad buy expected it to stick to anything. nope. tried to repair flower pot. did the cleaning ; made sure it was dry. placed tape on pot - no stick!! the adhesive didnt fill sticky. May 11, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Repairs Tractor Seat I used Gorilla Tape to repair the seat on my Kubota Loader/Hoe. Tape holds up to my 230# sliding on and off the seat without "rolling" like duct tape does. It endures weather from freezing rain to summer sun as there is no cab. The heavy plastic cover was cracked and distorted and the foam was getting wet. I layered tape in rough areas, covering the rest. Now the seat is smooth and dry, and has been for 2 years! I keep this stuff in my work truck all the time. I bought this roll to repair plastic garbage cans, and yes, it stuck with amazing tensile strength. March 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst painters tape I ever used Do not, I repeat, do not use this on your walls. This sticks to them really well, which was great while painting, but afterwards, well... it's still on my walls. February 20, 2016

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by HORRIBLE!!! We needed to put a vapor barrier under the house we're going to buy and was told Gorilla tape is THE BEST! Bought three rolls and I must say that the only thing it stuck to was itself...even then it wasn't that hard to unstick it. Didn't stick to the concrete blocks (which were dry) or even the plastic sheeting (dry again). Could've done the same job with duct tape for a fraction of the cost. Will never, ever buy again nor recommend it to anyone. Very, very disappointed. July 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Pickleball court i used the white gorilla tape to lay down a pickleball court in the parking lot of our fire dept last summer. What a surprise it was to find that the tape was still down after a tough Upstate New York winter of snow, ice and plowing. Great product. Does exactly as advertised. July 27, 2015
