If I were to pick this up by the handle can I set it down and have it open up for me with one hand? OR, do I need to set it down and use my other hand to open it up?

Answer:
While mine is only one month old it is stiff to open and requires 2 hands. I would not expect it to loosen up enough to open with one hand either.

Answer:
It requires both hands because to the left on the top step is a button that you push to lock the ladder frame in place, and both hands are needed to unfold the ladder.

Answer:
This is a sturdily built step ladder so I'd say that if you are strong you might be able to hold it up with one hand and open with the other--not sure why you'd need to do it that way though. When I open it, I stabilize it by placing one hand on the handle, then with my other hand I push the little lever that's on the top step and unfold it. It's very easy to open.

Answer:
It really takes two hands to fully open this ladder. It locks into place. To fold it back up, you must release to lock button, hold the ladder at the top and then with other hand fold the step into the front structure. It you work it right you can stand in front of the ladder and with one hand partially fold the ladder.

I'm sorry I don't know. I checked the label but it doesn't show the weight. I will say I have no problem carrying it from room to room and I'm not an especially strong woman. I would think most people would have no problem carrying this ladder around.

2-Step Lightweight Steel Step Stool Ladder with 225 lb. Load Capacity Type II Duty Rating is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 82.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from One solid ladder I'm so happy to have found this step ladder. I'm not getting any younger so jumping up on rickety chairs or wobbly light weight step ladders does not appeal! It's solid, locks in place and has wide skid proof steps. It's just what I needed for cleaning, maintenance and indoor projects.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great all general use step stool. Opens and closes easy with good grip safety steps. The plastic feet grip well on the floor BUT could be better if they were of a soft rubber.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 225 pound capacity you say? I am a plus sized male model who needs a step stool for my various male model activities. Imagine my surprise when I found that step stool capacities miss the plus sized male model mark by 100 pounds. Cautiously I purchased this step stool and I am pleased to announce that this little step stool should be renamed "The Little Step Stool That Could" as it gloriously holds me in my most famous plus size male model poses!

Just needed a relatively small step ladder to reach some high shelves in my place. This ladder is just tall enough for me and it's pretty lightweight. I'm right around the weight limit for this ladder and haven't had any issues with that so far. Nice that it folds flat and you can store this ladder pretty much anywhere without it getting in the way.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little ladder We purchased this little ladder because both hubby and I are short on one end (lol). It is great for reaching items in closets and kitchen cabinets. Folds nicely and stows away in a narrow space. The top step is large for safe footing and the top step locks in place when opened. Def recommend this ladder.little

I have been using a wooden 2 step ladder for the past 30 years and decided it was time for a change. After some looking around I found the Gorilla 2 step and am not disappointed. Good quality and a great price. No bending over to move the ladder, good stability when standing on the large 2nd step.
