I am screwing these onto an unfinished ceiling in my basement. So I am not using bolts but screws. I just want to know the size needed. Thanks!

Answer:
Unfortunately, I cannot really suggest any specific size or types of screws for that type of installation. We manufacture and test these with the intention of installation on heavy duty wooden swing beams.

The holes are pretty big so I assume I need huge screws. But what size?

Answer:
I installed these last week, very heavy duty. I noticed that the ductile casting mount holes are 9/16". I used 3/8" bolts like they recommed but. I would use 1/2" bolts instead to prevent to much slop if they happen to work loose.

Answer:
As long as the metal beam is strong enough to support the load the swings put on it then yes, these swing hangers can be used. Thanks for your question!

I would like to use these for a porch swing for two grown adults. I would like to only use two and I am not sure if these will suffice or if I should get something more heavy duty.

Answer:
The working load limit for each ductile is approximately 1000 pounds; however, the amount of weight the swing will actually be able to carry will be dependent on the size and weight capability of the beam that the ductile is attached to. Please ensure that the beam is properly sized and supported. Thanks for your question!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Swing hanger Used one of the two I ordered on a swing frame. Folks at the local Home Depot were impressed when we showed them what we bought online. July 19, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Strong and stable Original installation of this porch swing was an eye screw in the ceiling joist. It was creaky and unstable and eventually tore out. This hanger is strong and stable. October 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by missing necessary hardware Should have come with the necessary hardware. Not sure why that wouldn't be included. June 9, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by IRON SWING HANGERS No hardware included. But the hangers are great quality, Huge and heavy. May 12, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Swing Set Hangers I have now purchased 7 sets of these hangers. The playground keeps growing. Just can't imagine any of the grand kids having to take turns to swing. I know these hangers will out last the grand kids. April 7, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Swing hangers Great product- possibly a little overkill for a porch swing, but I am confident these hangers will function safely for many years. December 13, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very Robust If you are looking for something that will last forever (or at least longer than the wood you are attaching these to) then these hangers are for you. The only issue for me was that the rings are very thick (much thinker than the swing chain) so finding a good link between the hanger and the chain was a challenge. August 18, 2014
