Howdy Peter,
While it is always a good idea to seal pieces of wood before putting outdoor project together to get every crevice, it could make for a more difficult assemble.

Answer:
Howdy Peter,
While sealing wood before putting together is usually the best idea, it could make for a bit more difficulty when assembling.
The wood is durable and should last an entire childhood.
Of course you could also seal after you've put together. The choice is yours.
Happy Playing,
Coach Dave

Answer:
Just like you'd find at a home center, our boards are not exactly the dimensions that are listed. Our 2x4's are re-milled down to 1-3/8" x 3-3/8". In the beginning pages of the manual there's a section called 'Board Identification' that explains the sizing and identification of our parts. If you have more questions regarding sizing, please contact us at support.gorillaplaysets.com. Thanks for your Read More

Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 391 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Product We bought this for our 5 year old son and he absolutely loves it. The play set went together fairly quickly and without any trouble - we started in the morning and he was playing on it by late afternoon. The quality of it has so far been durable, and I expect we'll get several years of enjoyment out of it! Plus it is a perfect size for our backyard. I would recommend this set. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great playset! Easy to assemble. High quality wood. Overall a great value. And the kids love it! July 26, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Happy Toddler My 2.75 year old is pleased as punch. Paid a local guy to put it together for me (best $350 I ever spent!) so can't speak to assembly. I did stain the wood before assembly which was a lot easier than it would have been once assembled and would definitely suggest other do too. July 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Very pleased with this purchase! Was delivered in a timely maner by Southern Frieght. Driver was awesome and helped me hand truck all 3 large boxes to the back yard. That probably saved me 4 hours of labor! I had a friend help me the first evening and we were able to set up the main frame. The next day I completed the build to my surprise. This took 8 hours plus the 4 hours the night before, 12 total hours build time. I did have all the tools needed i.e. power drill, socket set. I consider myself average with tools and lumber - FYI. I am probably more pumped than my 2 kids who are, one at 3 years and one at 3 weeks. We live in New Orleans where backyards are tight, this fits perfect! I highly recommend! August 18, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DO NOT BUY Horrible customer service. I would not recommend this product to anyone. Very cumbersome to assemble, poor quality material. Any warranty issue not covered as the company deems it an "act of god" June 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Happy About Purchase I was a little scared as there are a ton of pieces, nuts, bolts, screws, etc. But, the directions are solid and everything lines up well. Assembly time took about 8 hours. I recommend sorting out the parts in the area where it will be assembled, as this saved some time searching for parts. One aspect of installation that isn't really covered in the directions is the importance of leveling the main structure and then squaring it off prior to adding the decking and balusters. I'm pleased with the initial quality and solid feel. I plan on treating it with a water seal. I hope that it lasts! August 1, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great playset Playset was easy to assemble, tho sometimes the instructions were not as direct as possible. Lay every part out as recommended by instructions and it makes things move along pretty fast; and definitely predrill needed screw holes to prevent wood splitting. Double check to make sure you have all parts before starting construction. We had two sets of boards for same step, and missing two boards for deck; but made it all work. Looks great and grandson is really enjoying it. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good price, right size Heard nightmares about putting these things together. Took my father and I about 5.5 hrs. Make sure the ground is prepped and level prior to starting. August 2, 2016
